GT on the Dark Horse dash???

what the flying truck lol

even my antiquated tech s550 has GT350R graphics on the screen … that’s right … not just gt350 but actual GT350R and in red to match the R badges on the car …

So frustrating as it really is minimal effort by Ford …

it gets worse. every single model from the EcoBoost to Dark Horse has the same GT Performance Pack graphics. even the new Explorer at least changes the color of the vehicle shown on the dash based on the actual color. the only one with different graphics but the same color limitations is the GTD

The S650 is a complete failure for Ford. They are trying to right the ship by moving the refresh up to 2026. Part of the update will be the new Google based OS. Ford has no motivation to pour any money into Synce 4.

That makes me wonder how it much it costs them to do updates to Sync. Maybe that is part of the problem. Is there a lot of crappy spaghetti code that breaks other modules when they make a change? That could explain why the updates are few and far between and why they rarely address simple things like graphics

The successor to Sync4 and the possibility that it will be Google Android based has been rumored since 2021. It has nothing to do with the S650.

Right, sync is a global FoMoCo thing it is not Mustang specific. He just got me thinking.

the worst thing ford does is software config management. Even the build and price sites can be buggy and not line up with the order guides. I’m just trying to guess why

It is pretty weird that the Ford software engineers had the energy to add in little details like the Fordpass app being able to pick up on not just your paint colour but also what rims you ordered from factory (my app shows my Bronze Appearance package flawlessly down to the bronze badging). And other little things that most other people wouldn't ever even notice like when you adjust the follow distance for the adaptive cruise control the front end of the little car showing the follow distance is a Mustang rather than just a generic car front end.

Yet the centre display that has a HUGE 3D Mustang graphic that everyone sees has little to no effort put in.... Whoever they put in charge of designing that section was obviously just there to collect a paycheck and no more. Sometimes I look at the little details on these cars and go "wow the people who make these are REALLY passionate about them" and other times I go "are you serious? It's not rocket science you guys why are we like this?"
