New random damage to my car

So after the dealership took my car to automatic car wash and scratched it (which they fixed after lots of back and forth communication) now this stupid tree decided to fall on the car. Besides the dents in the photos there are scratches everywhere. Fun times

Ouch! Sorry for damage. Does the city own the tree? What was the overall condition of the tree? Looks like a bunch of old dead limbs. Maybe you find out the last time it was pruned. Maybe you can file a claim for poor maintenance. Hate to see you foot the bill if it was a result of poor tree care.

Yea its city tree, on the side walk, looks very dry and old, i dont know when they pruned it. It fell on another car too after i move mine…. I dont know where to file for poor maintenance, trying to figure out next steps.

You might start with the city maintenance dept. They might be able to direct you to the proper dept. Possibly city website has info who to contact. It will probably be a slow process. Hope you can get the city to pay up. Good luck.

I didn't know bumper guards were a thing until I saw yours. I'm guessing you have had a few nicks in the past. I've never lived in an area where the only parking was on the street, so now I know!

It won't effect your insurance rates , so relax.. Take pics of branch on car for proof.

In 2023, a hail storm and 100 winds destroyed $60K worth of roofs on the house and pole barn and destroyed my roll in dock (homeowners policy), not to mention capsizing and totally destroying a $55K boat (watercraft policy).

Those two storms only months apart were acts of God.

Believe me, my premiums went up the following year due to those claims.

Had a deer run into my driver's door back in like 2008. Don't recall if my rates went up after that.

Well, it was on public property, which is controlled by the city/county/state, etc. So do what any law-abiding citizen should do... Sure the S--- out of them for not properly trimming their trees!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I had a much bigger tree limb fall on _me_ about 2 months back. I was chain sawing it off a dead tree; it had already split but I didn’t see the split, so when it broke it messed up my left arm pretty good, including some tendon damage. I literally just got off restricted duty issued by the ortho. No breaks, but I was sore for good while.

So I know how your Mustang feels.

I hope she’s back to like new soon!

I would have many sleepless nights over this one. I believe you’ll need more than one tube of touchup paint.
I would get it fixed and trade it in.
Trade it in before it hits Carfax!
