And as predicted, we have folks living in an alternate reality where these two cars aren’t direct competitors. And as predicted we have folks trying to compare the incomparable. A virtually hand built race car for the street versus a production car. Also using only two factors, albeit important ones, to determine the final value of a vehicle. Both are amazing cars and I’ll bet those with the actual means to buy cars in this price range would consider owning both.
I will hold an opinion until the ZR1 hit the ring or any other track time vs the GTD for that matter. I still think the GTD holds its value way better. And as predicted, we have folks living in an alternate reality where these two cars aren’t direct competitors.
everyone compares them, from the rags to the blogs, to the YouTubers. They compete directly. They are both 2-door, 2-seat sports cars that cost ridiculous amounts of money. Heck, the Mustang even started life as an all-out race car. Yet the production car is the faster one. Go figure. Not just more bang for the buck. More bang period. A lot more. Stop hiding behind mommy and face the music. We’re all mustang fans, but the GTD lost this round. It is what it is.
don’t mind the mental gymnasts. Hysteria does that to people. facts and logic are too much for the populace in this stage of grief. No, you just pay even less if you can get it.
agreed on both points. I think the Gtd got roasted. Which sucks to be honest. But it’s what happened. Still, it will most likely only appreciate in value. The zr1 will most likely go the opposite way.I will hold an opinion until the ZR1 or any other track time for that matter, but IMHO the GTD did not simply lose it got totally slammed. I still think the GTD holds its value way better.
Caught me before my edit LMAO. But I did say it.agreed on both points. I think the Gtd got roasted. Which sucks to be honest. But it’s what happened. Still, it will most likely only appreciate in value. The zr1 will most likely go the opposite way.

No no no no no, You quoted me before I edited my post. LOL! I was deciding if I should put int the part about the GTD getting owned by the ZR1. I took it out but you quoted me before my edit.Want me to delete? No prob if so. I’ve put my share of stuff out there I wish no one quoted me on Lol
I'm with you here: but only if you can land a ZR1 at MSRP. If it's a 150K over then no. If I can get a ZR1 for $170K MSRP I'm buying it over the Mustang all day long ... I'm looking into a Z06 as I write because those prices have plummeted and having owned 5 Corvettes in the past - two Z06's they are SUPERB cars for the money and FAST as all get out. Toe to Toe stock cars - straight line 1/4 they will blow away anything Ford has on the market ... On the twisties - forget about it ...Stop hiding behind mommy and face the music. A ZR1 at MSRP? As a past Corvette owner do you honestly think there is a snowballs chance in hell that is going to happen, at least during the first year? After the first year that $175k MSRP goes the way of the dodo. Just like the $59k C8.I'm with you here: but only if you can land a ZR1 at MSRP. If it's a 150K over then no. There are threads of C8 Z06's under MSRP at dealers on the Corvette forumsA ZR1 at MSRP? Yes, that’s been mentioned before but what does that have to go with my post? A Z06 is not a ZR1.There are threads of C8 Z06's under MSRP at dealers on the Corvette forums
they are both pricey corvettes.Yes, that’s been mentioned before but what does that have to go with my post? A Z06 is not a ZR1.
Idk. I think the zr1 will come in well under 7 minutes in the ring. Also I believe it will be better than 6:57. So here’s hoping ford clears that number by a good 10 seconds at least on the retry in better weather. The Gtd really only has the ‘ring time to hold up at this point. If that gets snatched, it’s entire reason for being just… I don’t want to say it. You get the point.I'm with you here: but only if you can land a ZR1 at MSRP. If it's a 150K over then no.
