I could give a damn. Please take me back to the late 80s/early 90s when ”bang for the buck” was what mattered. How did we get here?
While I kind of agree with this statement, maybe I am forgetful but show me some examples?

I mean it was the same shit back then, those that could did and had, we just did not have the social media to cram it in our faces.

I got denied for a GTD so I may be bitter, but at the same time quite relieved in hindsight given what has transpired. The rollout of the GTD and some of the decisions made in the final product are questionable. They waited a long time to release the horsepower rating and they still haven't released many of the specs, including the weight. And now we find out that it's just two seconds faster than a GT3 around the ring. I know they said that they'll go back and try again but that's what we have as of today.

Sorry but my GT3 was $223K loaded w/ $50K in options. I'll keep my GT3, my '23 Mach 1 w/ HP and be happy having paid way less for both than a GTD with its cheaped out Dark Horse interior. Ford can have their two seconds.

The GTD is really cool but Ford approached this project the wrong way. The interior is glaringly budget for a $350K+ car and doesn't support how bespoke the rest of the car is. Perhaps a twin turbo V8 or something truly unique, rather than largely the same engine in a $85K GT500 would have provided further differentiation for such a price increase.

It's not a failure by any means as the GTD is one of the fastest ever around the ring, but I'm just disappointed with the end product for the price. In the denial they did me a favor by not having to make the decision in purchasing it.

Ok let me throw this out there...

It is called a "Mustang" and it is in concept, theory and at heart! MUSTANG! dropped a less than 7 Ring time.

You expect that from Lamborghini , Ferrari, Porsche, etc... Let alone Viper or Corvette.

Ford did not name it the FORD GT or Cobra or or or...

It is a MUSTANG! and hate if you want, they will sell every "Mustang".

Very bold and impressive.

My wife said it best on the 2024 and same with the GTD...

Wife - about the 2024+ 5.0 "I do not think the screens are an after thought but a statement!"

Wife - about the GTD "They called it a Mustang and people are going to buy it, another statement in these times."

Ok ,that was a tin can on wheels for $37K and at the time the ZR1, Lambo, 911, Ferrari where owning the scene.

Go buy that car right now, band new for $37K? It was a different time, but no different.

I can't believe people who claim to be car enthusiasts, I'm starting to doubt this, are attacking this car. You and I see how ridiculous this is. This car just did what no other American car in history has done one a first lap attempt in flawed conditions, and people are bitching that it's not good enough. This is actually insane. The 300k mustang is matching the mid-engine, hybrid, AWD Porsche 918 that was about a million bucks. It's matching the performance of that car for a third the price, and people are still complaining about the price.
I'm not sure anyone is attacking the car. I would wager the vast majority of people on here--who are Mustang enthusiasts--think it's a fantastic car and a great accomplishment. It's great that it's as fast as the near decade old 918 (and on much better tires), but that isn't what people are complaining about because it also happens to be slower than the cheaper GT3 RS. Was the track perfect? No, but the time is what it is, and it certainly wasn't a "wet" track as some are claiming. All that said, it still doesn't take away from the accomplishment of being the first American manufacturer to turn a sub 7-minute time.

That $12,999 base coupe market adjust to….

TWO HUNDRED NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS in 2024…

yep… 290K…

By all comparisons a fully loaded Dark horse would cost HALF of the LX, and is superior in every way.

@Greywolf22 ..... yeah, I was at that track years ago and the Porsche guys whined if there was even bird crap on the surface. The Ford guys raced on a wet/damp track and did that on their first try. Awesome. The Europeans just can't handle this $hit. I lived there, speak two of their languages and they have always been totally jealous of anything North American. Mustang or Porsche - really like there's any kind of comparison of fun factor and the Mustang sound. BTW - watch their women passengers when you pass them in your stang. They ain't lookin at the Porsche's Shitty dash - they're lookin at your stang. Just sayin'!......BTW great video to google Vaughn Gitten Jr. Drifts Nuremburg. Play it loud on the big screen. We were building real cars when the Europeans were building air cooled Shit boxes and whiney little rice rockets. Mustang has and always will turn more heads that any Euro-crap. Those dip $hits have to have a 1000 HP to start so Greta Dickbird and Nutty Euro-Greens can de-tune them 50%. They're screwed - we rule.....and now that the Big T is baaaak. Yahoo. Let's put the EPA on the bus. Send them all to that twirp Newsome in Californication.
