My first order was priority 19, ordered march 19, the dealer submitted the wrong color and the rep. wasn’t able to change the color. I requested them to cancel the order but they didn’t. The Second order was priority 19, ordered may 31 at a different dealer and when I received a VIN, they both had the same build date. However, when I got my vin the second time, the dealer also sent me a picture of a receipt that now showed priority 04. Not sure if it’s because we are at the end of the run, it has the same build date. I read roadpilot”s writeup which explains the process and seems like a lot of moving pieces to a puzzle that sometimes don’t always line up. I wanted a specific color with specific features so I will wait..

I’ve got my 🤞🏻 mine doesn’t get bumped!!!

Im priority 2 with no vin yet but no scheduling issues either.

UH

Wait, I just saw @Newface post…month of Sept. no 990 - MOD 5.0L-4V DOHC EFI NA Engines.

@Newface @Rocket @roadpilot Mine doesn’t seem to be bumped yet but I also don’t have a VIN? But they don’t have engines. I’m confused 🤣

Think a lot boils down to if FRAP is reopening next week, rumours are it’s closed for a good chunk of August Last I saw nobody has window stickers yet but have build weeks starting Monday. Seems concerning.

if they don’t start building next week that means everyone starts getting postponed even more and doubt they schedule anything for a while.

just my 10 cents. The guys you listed are more in the know

Not having a VIN is a bad sign. Some guys been waiting a year. Other guys ordered and their car shows up within 3 months. Having a priority code of 19 is also bad as @VTX CHF as said. Perhaps @roadpilot or one of the guys more versed in this can give you better insight.

Speaking as your Junior, with more road behind me than ahead of me, and with much respect, do not wait on the things that bring a smile to your face. You coming to a forum like this at 80, after having ordered a blinged out GT, means you are a man of means, have done your part and now should be able to reap what you sowed. You deserve your happiness any way you can get it sir.
MCS - here’s an update
I thought about this & went to my dealer a couple weeks ago to see if I could get any status update. No luck, but on the floor they had a 2018 Shelby GT350 in perfect condition w/8k miles, on consignment. Next day I drove it home & I’m now enjoying my 80th year in style, and feeling younger every day. Thx for the timely advice about not waiting too long! Precisionbob

My priority was 12 and I ordered it 2/20 and start build date was 8/8 (I do believe it's build by now but I didn't get any news yet). So it took 6 months from order date to build date and I did not get it yet. OK The car I ordered is not a GT but still...

Beautiful ride man!!!!

Well done sir, life is too short to spend it waiting.

I spoke with Ford today and was told

Thank you for your patience, MCS, your vehicle is set to the order status of "In Production" which means that it is being manufactured at one of our factories. It is set to go into the "Awaiting Shipment" status by Aug-31-2024, this date may be subject to change.
So looks like nothing this month for me. Maybe early September lol

Does anyone know when Ford starts cancelling 2024 orders or pushes them to 2025? I ordered on 7/18/24. Thanks.

That is a great question. I too ordered a 2024 GT (PP, NPP, AE) on 6/7/24 and all I get from Ford are those emails every 45 days that they are working on my order. It is my understanding that Oct 19 will be the last build date for the 2024 model year. After that I think they cancel your order and you need to place another one for the 2025 year at the new higher price. Current Ford has 1191 retail orders pending production. These are custom orders from people like us and the plant is at a full stop waiting for parts. WTF Ford? This reminds me of my F-150 Ford Lightening that I tried to order a few years back. By the time they got to my order the tax rebates were gone and the price had gone up by 10K. Thanks but no thanks at that point.

I did speak to my salesman on 8/9/24 and he said I should get a VIN in the next two week but I doubt that seeing that I have a priority code of 19.

And how can they not have the black paint for the Nite Pony Package for the 2024 model year but have it for the 2025 model year? Sound like a way of making more money for them.

Maybe it's a different SHADE of black?

I doubt they are grubbing that hard. To be honest I think many car companies learned a lot over the last few years with stuff like this; one of my investments is with an EV truck manufacturer and the day after they announced the increase in price for those who had already pre-ordered their stock tanked and now they are worth less than $20 a share when they were worth $50.

People vote with their wallets; I for one would just get my deposit back and walk away. I've already been shopping for Plan B if they are unable to fullfill my order from May 2024. Many other people who have pending orders would do the same.

We all love the Mustang, which is why we are here, but money talks but bullshit walks. Especially if it's late and over priced.

I also heard Ford was out of the manual Transmission. WTF That is one of the main reasons I wanted this car. Soon no more manual transmissions plus my dealer is offering a 300A mustang with a whipple supercharger that makes 810HP for 49.995.00 Of course I added a few extras to that package but was really looking forward to driving around a manual with that kind of power. BTW, it also comes with the full 3 year 36K mile warranty!

This is one of the main reasons I sold my supercharged S550 A10. I wanted a 6 speed Tremec and wanted to experience a different kind of drive. I'm hoping their being out of manuals doesn't impact my build as that would be a shame.

I do have my eye on a really sweet C7 though and if Ford is unable to accomodate, after selling my baby (21 GT Premium with Roush Phase 2), then it is what it is and off to another camp I go! We all gotta be flexible in life, ya know?

Anyone else talk with Ford Chat and get different answers?

I talked to them on Monday and was told

Thank you for your patience, MCS, your vehicle is set to the order status of "In Production" which means that it is being manufactured at one of our factories. It is set to go into the "Awaiting Shipment" status by Aug-31-2024, this date may be subject to change.
Today I spoke with them again and I got the following....

AGENT at 20:09, Aug 15:
Thank you for your patience MCS.
Our records indicate your vehicle's status is in production, meaning it is being built at one of our factories. The ETA for end production is October 18, 2024.

You should be able to check the vehicle status of your vehicle here: https://shop.ford.ca/vehicleordertracking?gnav=footer-shop .

MCS at 20:10, Aug 15:
Can you clarify; my car is going to take 2 more months to finish being built?

AGENT at 20:11, Aug 15:
It is an estimation. It can change overnight once it is produced and go to the next steps. We recommend checking our website from time to time for any update.
Either Ford Chat doesn't have the latest info or things just went from "annoyance" to "despite being shut down for a month the FRAP facility is woefully lacking in the supply and logistics department".

The Jury is still out on that.

I’ve found their answers are generic and nothing to do with your specific VIN or vehicle. Waste of time IMO

The only things I know for certain are....

VIN = Yep
BUILD DATE of 08/05/2024
BLEND DATE of 08/08/2024
PRIORITY 1

I've reached out to my sales rep (shoutout to Oscar) to see if he can track down some more accurate info than what Ford Chat told me.

I have a feeling Ford offshores their services like this. Major telco here in Canada do the same thing; while the labour costs are cheaper, the accuracy leaves much to be desired and is actually detriment to a brand.
