Ordered Mustang GT May 2024 and been pushed back again to Sept

Hi there,

First post -- just curious.

So I ordered a Mustang GT Premium in May and I quickly got a Vin within about 15 days.

However, every time I blink it seems like the production date keeps getting pushed back. I know some of you have been waiting much longer than me. Anyway I digress, So it has been pushed back a number of times in July and then a couple of times in August and now I just looked it is pushed back to 9/2/2024.

So my questions are.

1. Will my Mustang actually be built OR

2. Should I just compromise and get one now. I have found one I can live with. Not the same color but a lot of the same options.

^ These are the latest constraints: the Nite Pony Package and Black-painted roof. If you selected either of these options, that could explain some of the delays. Otherwise, it'd be down to two broad topics: parts or line scheduling.

That Ford gifted you a VIN means they have committed to the build. If the car is of the spec you'd really enjoy, I'd continue to wait. I think you'll appreciate it more once it arrives. And schedules can move forward just as easily as they can be pushed back. Some have later been surprised.

There have been quite a few weeks down time scheduled in July / August so a lot of cars have been pushed back, plus quite a lot of RHD cars being made this month which will not help (all RHD cars get the PP as standard)

Good things come to those that wait.

Since you are impatient, you should definitely go out and buy a version of the car you didn't really want and probably overspend for that less-than-desired configuration.

Well, some more news. Delayed another week to 9/9/2024. Got the email today.

The system that Ford is using is very poor.

I got the 9/2 email as well; Just one more week from the last change. Funny thing this time is that I got the email before the tracker changed. The previous changes all happened in the tracker before I got the email. Also, the email and the tracker never match. Really a bang up job going on over there Like a monkey mounting a football. No wonder they can't lock down a build schedule, they can't make sure the info going out to the customer in all of 2 programs matches. They seriously need to offer something to those willing to put up with this.

Ordered May 4th, 2023, picked up Sept 7th, 2023.

NPP delayed my order getting scheduled for a month. As soon as I dropped it, and went with the BAP, it got picked up and scheduled.
