Rant after driving a M2 and M3

Thats the point: manual DH premium(only model comparable to base M2/M3) starts inbetween the base(manual) M2 and M3.
Competition and xdrive are not comparable power(remember bmw rates power at the wheels)and traction(awd)wise.
If I trade in my 3 years old M3 for a base DH I would have to put 10-15k on top of it.
In my opinion Ford went a bit too far with price on this generation...

Between options(10k) and boost(15k)thats an 80k gt vert out of the dealer.

Which would put the coupe (-5) at 75? M3 but now the 8 is really a 16 (i know but actually …).

My 2024 BMW M2 stickered at $64,995. The 2025 Mustang S650 with PP, Race Red, 6MT, 401A, AE, MR and Red calipers. The M2 comes with all that standard. The cars you are showing are with the Carbon package which adds $10K for Carbon bucket seats and roof. Here is a 2025 M2 built like mine but with the 2025 price increase. It only got raised by $1k.

News flash, S650 Mustangs cost as much as M2s now. I had an S650 on order, it has been delayed now until 3 Sept. If it gets delayed anymore it becomes a 2025 S650. The cost is almost the same as a base M2 which already pretty much comes with all the goodies.

The 2025 M2 is $66075, while a 2025 Mustang GT Premium can be had for under $53000. Playing games with options doesn't change the reality that someone with $50k can walk into a Ford dealership and buy a V8 Mustang.

You "forgot" to add AE, MR, Recaros(comparable to M seats) and B&O. All come standard in the M2. Still the PP doesnt offer the cooling that comes standard in the M2. Got to jump into the DH to have that.
The S550/S650 chassis improved immensely the car's reputation and capability but current pricing for new vehicles just doesnt make sense. Its a platform based on a previous generation. They are milking previous R&D. Its priced as a luxury sports car but the product is not there(yet). Ford is punching higher than its weight and is risking a lot.
I see Dark Horses and GTs sitting on dealers lots for months and months(got my eyes set on a base mt DH sitting there since February) while new M2 and M3 sell like fresh bread. Why is that?
