I have had more info on my order now through somebody helpful at Ford UK via live chat. My car is now showing as 'exited Newark' but without any ship details as yet. Live chat suggested that means the car is likely in the process of being loaded and if I check back in a day or two it will have updated with ship details. Delivery is showing as by 21/9/24 to the dealer. This is a GT auto not DH by the way.

Atlantic Sun left just over a day ago with sail due in next Thursday, still quite a long eta if it's boarding a vessel now. Mine was sat at 6 weeks away for a while.
Wonder what they have access to as there is no space on our vista for ship name. and my dealer has said the next update they'll get it when it gets off the boat not on.

How did you get into live chat ? never seems to work for me, doesn't even appear most of the time.
The dealer is mistaken, it will show compound out when it leaves port, it usually takes a day or two to update, then compound in when it arrives in Liverpool

My dealer tells me my DH shows as 'Flat Rock' and 'shipped'. Does that mean it is waiting at Newark, or held at Flat Rock? Not too bothered about chasing the dealer - it'll get here when it gets here. Unlike my original order from Feb 2nd which is still sitting at Evans Halshaw in Hull

Shipped means it’s on route to Newark

Interesting. I spoke to Ford live chat earlier (order placed feb for a car that was, on the order form a Dec 2023 order) and it has only just been assigned a VIN with an estimated delivery date of 23/11/2024!!! At first they couldnt even find the order despite me giving the the number. TBH Ford UK seem to have no clue at all (or seem to give a S**T) about orders. Getting super P***ed off. GT not a DH.

It means its somewhere between flat rock and newark.
Mine took 5 days between Frap and Newark.

Or so vista said, i managed to get through to live chat in the end, they said it arrived at newark on the 8th July!

I ask dealer for update ... Compound Out - Newark, 18th July!!
It really is a farce. When I saw my dealer in Hull to ascertain if my order had been 'picked up' by Ford UK (knowing it hadn't because it was Dark Matter Grey which they hadn't pre-ordered), I said it's a crap way for a company to operate, and he agreed! Much better information in this forum than from dealers, which is a very poor state of affairs.

I assume Ford have a storage facility at Newark and this is what 'exited Newark' and your 'Compound out' mean. As in it has left the Ford storage facility at Newark and is now heading for the actual loading at the port. I don't think Vista is reliable in the transit phase (I don't think it is designed or used for this bit by Ford as clearly there are other systems they are using that they provided the info from to us today) I think the cars are being loaded in the next week or so for arrival early to mid August in the UK depending on how they get here. Then 3 or 4 weeks to get from Liverpool (or wherever) to dealers which is about right and fits in with my mid September estimate for delivery to the dealer. Live chat confirmed that the ship details will show on their system when the car is on the boat. Live chat were so specific with the information there is no way they were just guessing or making it up.

I think it just confirms there are no secret holds on our cars or any other problems, just slow transit. I have looked on my Ford account and my car doesn't have any recalls on it, not sure if the manual cars are showing the clutch pipe recall?

To be fair the live chat is Ford UK and they do seem to know exactly what is going on. The dealers however are just mushroom workers as they only have Vista to help them which doesn't really work for them. They are used to what happens with cars made in Europe including the timescales etc and the cars from the US are completely different. A friend of mine was a Ford dealer and they literally didn't know when a new car was going to arrive until the transporter turned up.

My dealer knew exactly how the orders were being dealt with (including the pre-configured cars) on 1st February. They didn't take any orders until they were officially possible and I got the Vista printout of my order on the day. They then learned about the fact that not all orders were the same and I got transferred to a car with a VIN in May. They have been very helpful throughout.

But we know all Ford dealers are not equal!

Nothing showing on the recall, the dealers was unaware of it.

Live chat told me to contact my dealer for the latest updates! Then provided me with old information (eta 3rd aug), then they refreshed their system and got a new update that it arrived in Newark on the 8th (maybe this was transfer to dock ? as ACL do require the vehicle present 6 days before boarding) and a new eta of 14th sept.

The compound out on the 18th lines up with Atlantic Sun's departure. Will find out on 31st July (or shortly after) if it gets off the boat.

I do wonder what system live chat has, as customer services (via e-mail) said the same thing of check with dealer we don't have much info.
You will now be able to follow the ship as progress on it’s journey

Live chat were pretty adamant that until the vessel is showing on their system it isn't loaded, so I don't think my car is onboard yet, but my ETA is the week after you anyway.

I think most likely your car arrived at the Ford storage area at Newark on the 8th, then left that on the 18th to go to the quayside for loading (the location the car has to be in for 6 days). I suspect it will be loaded onto a ship next week sometime.

It does look like things are actually moving now which is good.

Atlantic Sail leaves on the 27th July to arrive in Liverpool on 7th August - I reckon my car will be on that. Atlantic Sun leaves today so I don't think my car is on that.

That is good news and a much shorter time from vin to delivery than batch 1 (mine will be just over 6 months from vin to dealer) build date is probably quite soon if they can find any engines down the back of the sofa in time
Build date will be September surely?
