Does anyone have the pricelist for the S650 when it fist launched in Feb/March time? Reason I ask is there are a few brand new dealer stock units appearing on Autotrader with several thousand off the list price without any negotiation and I want to understand if this is merely the price that the dealer got the car for, as they secured it nine months ago, or whether they are having to incentivise their stock already?

For example, this: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202411035896448 and this: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202410115096053

For the first one £58675 is list price for the old price list but a discount over the new price list for 2025 cars. So £55999 is a discount of £2676 from the old list price however I would be very suspicious as the year one VED is £2795 including first registration fee - more than a coincidence! The advert does say first year VED included on the main site so maybe it is genuine?

The car is identical to one on the Ford dealer stock site at £58675 which includes the year one VED (as all Ford prices are, but not necessarily dealers)

Some dealers have rigid stock policies and will not want a car onsite, unregistered for more than a few weeks no matter what it is.

Note also the increase in VED next April.

Buy now if you want one, they will be £5k more by April when the 2025 cars start to arrive.

Thanks, that's very helpful re. dealer pricing strategies.

Yes, I placed an "order" (used in the loosest possible terms as they just select a car from a list that Ford have yet to publish, so it's little more than an intention to order right now) last Monday and cancelled it again on the Friday. Quite the anti-climax!

Might start ringing around all dealers to see if anyone has anything coming that is close to a spec I want.

Why did you cancel?

What spec are you after?

A good place to start is on the Ford website stock list as that is what is coming in in the next 2 or 3 months that hasn't already been reserved by a customer. They are building pretty much all combinations so you should be able to get what you want.

I cancelled because MY25 cars won't arrive before April and will cost £2750 more. I ordered Molten Magenta with Bronze pack, which would hopefully look good (no real pictures yet to decide), but it was down on my list of ideal colours compared to the MY24 options.

I have been looking very closely at the stock but I want a manual convertible, ideally with magneride and there are only grabber blue and shadow black available (or left, assuming there were more to choose from in March).

My whole move to go brand new was to get one in Splash Yellow (I've always wanted a yellow car, and this being the 'keeper' seemed like the right time to take the plunge and go new). I don't need a new car, and most of what I want out of the S650 would be delivered by a later S550, so if I compromised with a S650 in a 'wrong' colour for me, I may as well compromise a little further on a S550 and save £25-30k. Trouble is, they didn't sell many post-facelift manual convertible S550's, so the choice isn't there.

My only chances now are a cancelled customer order, an ex-demonstrator, or to wait for one to appear used. Hence calling all dealers to see if they have something close that may or may not become available.

First world problems, eh?

Has your car moved from Antwerp yet? Mine is still there.
It appears mine is too, although the last status received on Saturday is showing as Compound Out Antwerp 17th October.

That is good but I think Vista has not updated. It means it has left Antwerp and will very soon be compound in at Flushing (New Flush) in Holland - as in a few days. So it is almost certainly already there, or even about to get to Dagenham via RoRo ship. Your car was only at Antwerp for 2 weeks which is good timing wise.

I would expect your dealer to have the car in a couple of weeks.

I would get live chat to look into it, they normally have several lines worth of tracking. Sometimes several lines get entered at the same time but with different event times. It’s not always sorted in actual chronological order.
They can also have info on the next steps when it’s planned and not stuck in a hold.

Antwerp to new flush is only a couple of hours transit. But mine got diverted into a customs hold for the best part of a month.

Shipped from Holland I assume you mean

This is the normal process:

ANT COL(Antwerp in Belgium where they are off-loaded)
ANT QPD1 (Antwerp - Quality Checks)
ANT CUST (Antwerp - Customs clearance)
NEW FLUSH (Flushing - where the cars leave the EU to come to the UK)
DAG TOPS (Dagenham UK - Distribution Depot)
