11 hours from Flushing to Dagenham - 3 ships per day

1 day to 2 weeks depending on transporter availability / gaps from there to your dealer

Well the dealer is just off the M25, so hopefully it will be at the shorter end of two weeks!

Average time from entering flushing to leaving flushing is 2 weeks but can take 3 or in my case it was 4 due to a customs hold for 3 weeks. Which aligns with there estimates to dealer. Every ford (and other manufacturers) heading to the uk from europe goes through that port.

Once in the UK they aim for dealer delivery in a week. Transport is arranged once a vessel sailing is confirmed. If you’re lucky your car will arrive whilst a transporter is loading to go to your dealer and has space on it. (My dealer had 3 transporters heading there way the day mine landed)

When it’s planned live chat will know. Eg mine was set to arrive on a Wednesday, it was booked onto a transporter departing Saturday, scheduled to drop off at my dealer the following Tuesday.

Worth noting the ferries only sail on weekdays. There is usually 3 ships on a round robin.

Quick Q: what ball-pack insurance quotes are you getting on the S650? I just ran a comparison, and it seems to be twice as much to insure a S650 compared to an equivalent 2020 S550 (apprx. ÂŁ1100 vs ÂŁ550 p/a)

Is this because there is no data on the car yet? Is this typical with any new model that's only been on the road a few weeks? Thanks.

I paid £600 and something with ford insurance, they were cheaper than any on the comparison sites and then I got a discount from the dealer as well when they did the drive away insurance. Only applied 5 years ncb to it as that’s all I have for a 2nd car. The merc has 15 years applied to it and it isn’t much cheaper!

It was also set for 6000 miles sdp+c incl business, can’t remember if I set mileage on that or not

Buy now if you want one, they will be ÂŁ5k more by April when the 2025 cars start to arrive.
Might start ringing around all dealers to see if anyone has anything coming that is close to a spec I want.
So I took your advice Gregs24 (and my own advice) and sent out a message to every Ford Store dealer in the south of England asking if they knew of anything that might be available to sell that was 1) Convertible, 2) Manual, 3) Yellow Splash.

Predictably, this led to an afternoon of phone calls from people saying they don't have that, but would I like an auto in grabber blue instead? Not particularly.

But happily, one dealer had grabbed a car from the list when it was first published that was exactly the spec I wanted to order back in June (down to the options, as well). Better yet, they have it in the showroom already and want it registered this year so I was able to negotiate a good deal on it too. I think they'd initially wanted it as a demonstrator over the summer, but it arrived too late and with yellow no longer available to order, it made more sense to sell it.

It's a GT Convertible in Yellow Splash (anyone else think that name sounds like a puddle in a gents lavatory?) with the 6 speed manual, red callipers, and magneride.

I feel like I've pushed into a queue here as so many of you have been waiting patiently for nearly a year but I can't help but feel lucky to have found the exact right car and a little smug that my idea to cold-email all dealers paid off. Just have to clear out the garage now. Very excited indeed!

That was quick. Saturday is a long way off when you are counting the minutes
They had three turn up today (a bit like buses). Two Dark Horses (mine in Vapor Blue and a Blue Ember) and a black GT manual that they hadn't sold yet.
