I paid £600 and something with ford insurance, they were cheaper than any on the comparison sites and then I got a discount from the dealer as well when they did the drive away insurance. Only applied 5 years ncb to it as that’s all I have for a 2nd car. The merc has 15 years applied to it and it isn’t much cheaper!

It was also set for 6000 miles sdp+c incl business, can’t remember if I set mileage on that or not
£722 with 0 no claims (it's not replacing anything) from Ford Insure is £400 better than anything on the price comparison sites, so I'll go with that. The Ford Insure website is pretty flaky, though!

Wait for the dealer to do the drive away insurance with them (it’s 3 or 4 days) they will then apply a discount for you to stay with them.

i had similar quotes locked in before purchase to start a few days after pickup. (I had a few staggered by days) dealer did the quote and it was 10% better as they use a discount code.

And yes the email system is flakey to, they sent emails about making it a full policy, I accepted and paid, next day they send another email saying for £0 I can have the policy for the year … then after the drive away lapse I got a survey for why didn’t I go with ford insure … err I did!

Waiting is the hardest part but it’s almost over, as there is no stop order on uk cars. I suspect they’ve all been back to the factory already for at least the clutch issue.

Do ask them to keep all of the paperwork they find in the car they may find a few nuggets. I have condition reports at various compounds.

Looks like a transporter lorry has just visited Group 1 Ford Guilford as they have just posted up five(!) Mustangs on Autotrader that they claim to have in stock (they must have good credit lines).

Two GT's in identical spec, save for colour, with photos (interestingly, they think the Atlas Blue will sell for more than the otherwise identical Shadow Black), and three Dark Horses, including one in super-rare Race Red. Curiously, no photos of the Dark Horses yet, despite saying they're available immediately, and all are marked with some level of saving. They likely want them gone this year, so deals to be done I'm sure.

Frustrating though when so many customer cars are still in transit.

It's a fake saving based upon a once glitched online config where it added the 2k price for the recaro's twice, a dh manual even in blue ember with all of the options is not 72,745 never has been. Maybe it'll get there under my25 pricing but that car was 69k when they ordered it

They are moving quite fast now. Antwerp for 2 or 3 weeks, Flushing for a few days then Dagenham for a few days.

Some dealers are discounting now but you would need to see the full deal before getting excited. Plus are you trading in / selling? Price to change is the only thing that matters and that includes VED, delivery charges, registration fees, 'admin' fees etc etc. £3k off list doesn't mean £3k cheaper on the whole deal, but is a bargaining tool no doubt.

Yet Ford chat said delivery to dealer 23/11 - no chance that will happen LOL.
Your car is obviously just behind mine, but late November early December is very likely I would think. Depends when it arrived in Antwerp. They go through 3 or 4 different compounds there including quality checks and customs before a 3 hour drive to Flushing. Mine was 'compound in' at Antwerp about 3 different dates as it moved through the system. Customs seems to be the last step before departure to Flushing a day or two later.

It's when it leaves a location, that's probably when it left america, the atlantic sky left on that date and arrived in antwerp a week ago.

Also don't believe the 'discounts' the one i mentioned earlier just run it through ford config, without the seating mistake and fully maxed out its £71,595 @ current pricing. and they want £71,600 claiming a £1145 discount.
Except original rrp was £68,935 (ved has gone up since, then ford added over £2k to the price).
I paid £65,868 in the end.
(Manual, blue ember dark horse incl appearance pack, with the recaro's which fully loads it).

Also unless they have a picture of the car i wouldn't believe they have it, more a production allocation. There are a lot of listings now for cars arriving Q1'25 (can be in the header or discription) but auto trader lists them as 'in stock'

even this one is pics of a lhd handling pack car, you have to read on a bit to see its arriving feb '25

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202410245540841

Also the 'race red' one also says it's molten magenta (a my25 colour) in it's description ... which is it. Funny how they all have 35 miles ... fake number as most are arriving in the teens.

I collected my Vapor Blue Dark Horse this morning and have put 260 miles on it, driving back from Surrey to East Yorkshire. Averaged 25MPG which I suppose is to be expected.

It's a great car and looks very impressive in the flesh. Larger that I was expecting even though I'd compared dimesions to other cars - makes my SLK AMG55 look like an MG Midget! And the exhaust sound is amazing. Going to be very nervous parking it without front parking sensors. I might look at getting after-market sensors fitted.

Will post some pictures in the next couple of days.

I also have a Leon ST, which is a very easy car to manage in the UK. How does it the Mustang compare, particularly the width?

I had a X150 Jaguar XK for a few years, which was similarly proportioned, but the Mustang seems to be a bit bigger and, as you say, no front sensors. It felt fine on my test drive, but that didn't include any narrow roads or parking!

Engine will still be tight so 25mpg is fine. You will get 30mpg on the motorway easy when it has run in. Auto is slightly better than manual because 10th gear is stratospheric! Best I have had in my S550 is 35mpg in France with the adaptive cruise on at 80mph over 300 miles.

You will soon get used to it. The size is not that big just you sit well back from the front compared to other cars
