48 hours in and I've found my first warranty issue. The ISOFIX points seem to be misaligned with the bars on one side of the rear bench, so I can't attach the child seat. Annoyingly, it's the nearside that's out of alignment so I had to squeeze the car seat behind me. Managed it though (when there's a will, there's a way) and my 18 month old giggled when I turned over the engine and dropped the roof.

Fortunately, it's winter so I won't be going anywhere much with her for a while. I'm hoping the dealer can just remove the rear bench and refit it properly.

---

WRT traction on the Pirellis, I'm in the gentle gentle stage right now as I'm still at less than 200 miles in, but pulling out of grubby junctions even gently is audibly resulting in scrabble from the rear. We'll see how they do when everything's run in but once they are worn, I'll certainly be fitting Michelin Pilot 5 tyres to it. I fitted Pilot 4's to my XK (in place of Dunlops) and they transformed it.
Can they be seen / accessed with the seat back folded?

The glow is the secondary dash colour i think, it's usually just below the speed / rpm to give it more definition and like a blur that it's just been there.
It isn't the secondary colour because I've changed that and it is still orange. Shame as it makes the figure look blurry to me.

Rear seats don't fold on the convertible but I did do some nosing around today in case someone had just seated the rear bench incorrectly, which would be an easy fix.

I removed the rear seat base (super easy!) and the ISOFIX anchors are present and correct, but they just don't line up on the passenger side (the seat belt buckles line up perfectly, but the anchors are off by a few centimeters and as such, cannot feed through the rigid plastic guides that European models come with.

Looking more closely at the plastic guides, the one that seems most "off" also doesn't look right inside, so I suspect I have a defective seat base.

Unfortunately, because I bought from a dealer 150 miles away, I can't just pop it back and deal with the sales department to get it sorted (who no doubt would press the issue internally). I'll instead have to go to my local dealer, who won't know me from Adam and as such, I'll have to start from scratch with a warranty claim. We'll see how that goes.

For anyone into using ForScan to change options (instructions elsewhere in the forums!), I can confirm that the following two work on my automatic:

Remote Rev - 7E0-02-04 - 2nd bit - change from 1 to 2
Continuous Gear Display - 720-12-01 - 3rd bit - change from C to E

The remote rev is a bit of a novelty, but I'm used to seeing which gear my automatic is in, so that is a useful change.

Yes, odd that was removed, especially when the gear is shown for the manual cars.

Have to say S650 A10 gearbox is considerably improved on my 2019 S550. Gone are the occasional harsh change into 5th and the odd shunt when stopping quickly. It was never a huge problem but the new one is a lot better.

Noob question: Does this void anything with the warranty when changing stuff in the system?
Do you need the fob key mentioned a few posts above to use it or can you use the app afterwards once changed?

Not sure about warranty. I've always tweaked settings in my cars. Just checked the remote rev - you can remote start with the app and then remote rev with the standard keyfob.

ah very nice, I'll need to check how to use ForScan and what material one needs to do it. Thanks for the codes 🤘

For those of you that have your cars now check your tyre pressures!

The recommended pressure is 32psi all around cold. The S550 was the same but I always used to run a bit more at the front end which improved the steering response. When my car was delivered it was 37psi all around (they were probably 40psi or more from the factory and it is normal for them to be overinflated a bit in transit). Oddly the low speed secondary ride was slightly better than my S550 even at higher pressures but I noticed an odd 'jigglyness' in the secondary ride at higher speeds on the motorway from the front of the car. As the pressure were not much different to my S550 I just thought that was the way the S650 is. Well it isn't! Dropping to 32psi all around and the high speed secondary ride is massively improved, I was genuinely surprised 5psi could make that much difference, but it does.

So if you are missing a bit of comfort, then that may be where it is. Interestingly Autocar's test of the DH mentioned the relatively poor high speed secondary ride, so I do wonder if they were suffering from over-inflated tyres?

Are any of you having an issue with the "keep your hands on the steering wheel" alert. Mine seems to come on every 5 minutes despite me having my bloody hands on the wheel!!!!

I haven't had this message appear yet but I have heard others complain that they get it. I'm only 250 miles into it so far, though.

I turn off Lane Assist so no 'hands on the wheel' warning. I did get the driver alert warning on a motorway trip, so turned that off, but it seemed to need quite a time before it started triggering, then wouldn't shut up!

Nice to hear you have your car now - better change that profile pic etc so we can see your pony.

Yes, it's very annoying. Way too sensitive. On my Leon I only get that if I actually take my hands off the wheel for over 5 seconds.

Did a Rapid Red Mustang ever reach the UK? They were showing up on the Ford stock list for a while but I've never seen one advertised for real?
