While I do not approve of any hateful attacks on Shelby personnel. This means we are right over target letting them know the parts bin slop they are trying to sell for $120,000 is not welcome.

I kinda get the sentiment but let’s be real.

it’s no less than what steeda, etc. are doing. Or what Rousch has always done.

it’s indicative of Ford’s rehashing old stuff for the s650 generation.

the dark horse is really what the GT should be for this gen.

the Gtd is just the old gt500 with a better tune and third party suspension bolted on.

probably the lamest “addition” is a supposed new “rtr” model from ford. Just a grill and some body kit parts.

there isn’t much for Shelby, etc. to work with unless they wanted to go mass market and start making their own long blocks etc. and that’s a highly risky proposition.

the super snake is a pretty rad car.

but all the cars right now are stupid expensive for what they are. I’d pay a little over 100k for a super snake, but 150k? Sheesh. Yet that’s the state of the industry. And worse, that’s the state of the patchwork s650 platform.

if there’s anyone to blame here, it’s Ford.

I think a lot of pent up frustration was building and cfolks didn’t know what to do with it. Then we hear “GT350” and thought “finally! Something to get excited about!” Only to learn it wasnt from the factory. It was a tuner. Meanwhile the new factory car is an rtr 4 banger? It’s a sucky time.

so take it out in the real culprit. The Shelby’s, Steeda’s, Saleen’s etc. really have it rough right now. I can’t imagine how tough it must be to run those businesses with the state of Ford right now.

for what it’s worth, I think Shelby and Steeda both have done a bang up job with what’s in front of them. Probably the only knock is that I wish they would have made the DCT an option and the tremec as the standard manual.

beyond that, sure I can pay a butt ton of money snd build the car myself or pay even more for a tuner shop to do it, but for not too much more, I can have an actual Shelby, drive it with trust and confidence, and have a warranty.

it’s a good car.

ford just needs to do better. At the minimum, maybe throw these guys and mustang fans a bone and certify some crate engines for street legal use. Even better if they allocated the slightest bit of assembly time to adding the crate engines directly to mustang chassis set apart for these long-standing partners.m, instead of forcing them to eat the waste and pass it on to their customers.
