mite not a ram thing. Ford and dodge stole it from each other. Shelby has been using it for about as long as dodge has.

It looks terrible regardless of who used it first lol. The rest of the car looks fine, but the best aftermarket front end is the RTR.

disagree. Tje RTR grille is the nastiest thing to ever come out. It looks like it was designed after pig nostrils. Seriously the most unflattering look ever on a mustang - or any vehicle.

tje Shelby gt350 and super snake grilles look pretty decent. Clean and modern.

the rtr look is just lazy. “Oh hey see those holes? Let’s light them up as if a pig was sneezing fire! Yeehawww!”

gross.

Hmm

Option A
New GT350 for 110k plus

Option B
S650 301 package plus Whipple AND a higher mileage S550 GT350 with Voodoo for about the same money

Im taking Option B all day every day

You guys see the wingless pics? That rear 3/4...man, I'm REALLY diggin' the look of this thing!

Big downside for me is the fact that DH guts aren't being used. ESPECIALLY the transmission. I have no complaints with the MT82 as a whole, but it's basically a 4 speed (2 overdrive gears) vs the Tremec and it's tighter spacing. Since we're at it, they shoulda' tossed in a rear gear that starts with a "4".

It's too bad they didn't/couldn't raid the parts bin deep enough. Looks though? I'm 100% for it.

Doesn't matter whether it is Ford or Shelby. I really do not understand how to position the new GT350 when you have a Super Snake....

‘idk. It looks like a regular GT to me. About 90-95% regular GT. And that’s ok. But not “oh my gosh!”

track only cars don’t count. And the anniversary and special cars are nothing.

the only consequential cars are the GT, dark horse, and ecoboost.
‘’the GTD is unobtainable. The Shelby and rtr are tuner cars

there have always been crazy amounts of tuner cars. Saleen, rtr, Shelby, Hennessy, etc.

even so, the factory ford offerings are a tad weird with the ecoboost rtr. Kind of like throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.

1. Why does everyone hate Shelby wanting to modify an existing GT? They did that originally with the AC.
Because allowing Ford to create Shelby GT500s and GT350s under license produced cars with more meaningful performance upgrades and raised customer expectations of what those models should be. Going back to SA modifying GTs and calling them "GT350s" is a step backwards.

this. The recent gt350 and gt500 raised the bar in terms of what a pony car could be. Everything from engine to suspension to body to transmission, to even the transition to flat plane crank was explored. They were game-changing vehicles.

these SA units are basically aftermarket bolt on deals that we can do ourselves.

the Power is there. The parts are there. The cohesively developed engineering, translated to maximum performance and reliability is not.

??? Foreshadowing the end of the dark horse era???
I doubt it.

Just because they stop or suspend building a particular model (with Ford you never know when something will pop back up) it doesn’t mean that era is over. It often lives on whether in actual production or not. Witness Mach 1.

It likely means Ford wouldn't let Shelby American take a Dark Horse, slap on some bolt ons, and call it a Shelby.

It's too bad, though. That's what SA did with the S197 Super Snakes. Started with a GT500 from Ford, modified it, and. called it the Shelby GT500 Super Snake.

A Shelby Super Dark Horse would have been a lot more appealing.
