So whats the general thoughts on 7gen Dud or Stud!!!

I took delivery of my 2024 GT Premium 2-Sep-2023. It replaces a 2007 Corvette C6 coupe w/manual that I sold when my wife died last June. After a while I wished I hadn't sold it. Can't afford a C8, not sure I like the looks anyway, and you can't get a manual. So for about half the price of the C8 I bought the Mustang. In Sport mode the performance is pretty much equivalent to the vette. But the optional active exhaust is a keeper. I always thought Ford did the exhaust right on the Mustangs. They did not do so well on my 2023 Edge ST, i.e. there is essentially NO exhaust note. The Mustang is a lot more comfortable and much easier to get in and out of than was the Vette. All around, I like it, both interior and exterior. It sure gets a lot of looks and thumbs up. I fitted mine with the 20" wheels. I'm old school...I wish it had amber fog lights.

I am going to say this right now- anyone who pays 80K + for a DH instead of a low mileage GT500 is crazy - see hand

It's more about the car being inferior to the outgoing model in terms of performance it's a lesser vehicle for more money period.

That and I think everyone was running around before the deliveries started talking about how it was going to be so much faster because of the extra hp and getting frustrated because its not that much faster/ if faster at all -

I will say this- I think the 24 looks better in person then in pictures-

If s550's were really trapping 3-4mph faster you'd see a lot more than 1 car length difference. Just wondering what are you guys calling "stock s550 times"? Glory runs at -1500-0 da in mid of winter? Or da like what all the s650's are running in right now (3000-3500)? Because if you are calling 11.8-12.0@118-120 "stock s550 times" You are talking about insanely low da glory runs. And you are going to need to wait a while to compare s650 to those conditions.

Number's I've seen people do could very much become those kind of numbers with that much da drop.

If you think that da isn't going to slow those cars down I don't know to tell you. People who ran s550 in warmer weather stock didn't run like that.

I'm not saying the 24 is great but you have to do apple to apple comparisons. And s550 low da runs aren't it.

Another interesting point to make is that nothing past the 18s actually ran that fast stock. Food for thought. They weren't a ton slower but just not that fast no matter the da.

Another point is what is even the data we have you have a massive list and we have what 2 YouTube runs on cars that aren't gutted. And not even one magazine time for the auto gt and one magazine run for the dark horse auto which was 12.0@119 and given we've seen the dark horse not dynoing any more than the gt and being heavier gives us a clue as to what the gt auto might do. Also keeping in mind that none of these quarter mile runs so far could be at low of da as what you linked for all of those 18s.

And to point out with that the dark horse manual magazine runs basically the same as the gt manual tests.

I think the only way to be sure is to have a video of an S550 vs S650 which is kind of weird - no one has shown yet outside of one where the S550 walks away- but it doesnt say if cars are stock or modified so who knows

There were a couple of guys on the S550s forums who were saying the 22/23s were not running as fast as well because Ford used some torque management software that would cut power when they would brake torque..... more weight + less torque = slower times in my head

Hell on my old 20 F250 with the 10 speed it cut power 1st to 3rd gear brake torque or not lol you didnt get full power until 4th - so not saying they would do that with the Mustang- but if they did the brake torque thing in the 22/23s- could see them doing it in the 24s

Remember all the Ford marketing- 0-60 in 3.9 - dont see any of that with the S650

Heck maybe in 2 months everyone starts running 11.50s in their 24s - no idea

I mean every thing you listed bar one is in colder months than now with most being from nov-dec. I would call those hero runs but to each their own.

But overall it doesn't matter we won't see if the s650 can do anything like that for months anyway. The bottom line is it's mostly looking like they are near the same in similar da's one would have to guess they would pickup similar gains in lower da as well.

Because the weight of the 2 with the same options isn't really that far apart and the power isn't either. Does that make it a failure idk probably not. According to car and driver the manual 24 and 18 both fully loaded are only 69lbs apart and the dark horse 97lbs from the 18 gt.

There maybe something weird going on with 24 10r tuning but then again the dark horse 10r pulled off a 12.0@119 in da that would be higher than any of those magazine times from the 18's given the time of year it is so idk. And again the darkhorse hasn't been really showing to make any more power than the gt.
Manual to manual they run almost the same so I'd expect close the same results 10r to 10r.

Overall all of this screams we need a lot more data and colder weather to really get any real answers.

I am also giving the benefit of doubt in this heat but look at jpc 24 11.77 at MIR and that's a downhill track l. My 18 gt a10 stone cold stock did 11.89 at 118 in 79-80 degree weather, I don't remember DA because it was 3 years ago.

But it's more money for a car that is slightly faster and has more technology. It is that way as far as the manual cars are concerned. Not sure what is up with the automatics.

I believe the manuals are very slightly faster then prior years.

So yes and no on the more money is the number higher yes but inflation sucks. A 19 401a pp1 gt was around 50kish but use a inflation calc on that 50k from 2019 to 2023 and that 50k is now $59,427 how much is a loaded 24 gt again..

In the low 60k range loaded not including convertible.

Sorry for delayed reply. Been battling some medical issues. Thank you for the compliment. The wheels are the stock 20" wheels that come from Ford with the 20" wheel option, i.e. the only wheel option they offer. Kinda' hard to clean...

I don’t think it’s an issue of engine output as much as it is the way the transmission behaves. Also would be nice to eliminate all variables so that nobody can make excuses

The car is a work of art and true Mustang. F’in stud in a girly car show. The interior is 2024 into a “future is here now”, total EV market, so it only makes sense. Let me roll up on your girly S550 or your dated Camaro in a Dark Horse trim and rev it and literally have you tell me you don’t like it? If you don’t appreciate this car and can’t judge the overall beauty but find a way to complain about any of the inferior options to base your total purchase on you are simply stuck on always complaining about anything “new”. Car is dam work of art and crushes the S550 in the muscle department, which is what we ALL ALWAYS WANT yet somehow people think it’s not enough? It’s a total nod to the early 70s and truly timeless already! Bottom line is Ford killed it and there is no denying it. Dodge is dead and Camaro too so this is the answer to the whole V8 muscle car loving world. Sporty as a dam Vette yet muscular like a Camaro is not. It’s new age and truly a collection piece. If you are gonna complain about a dam touch screen in 2024 you are stuck in the past and Ford is not. My hats off to Ford. Now let me cold start that Dark Horse and look at you negative Nancy’s and smirk at you while everyone on the block runs over to my car. They will look right past your S550 for sure bet! I f’in love this car and it makes Dodge’s shit look dated and Camaro look dated as well. When you have to critique down to a dam panel as the reason it is not a worthy you simply need to check back after your ass cools off after you just got slapped with a Mustang design that is out of your time zone!
