i have a base gt first thing i did was to throw some wider tires on it. Those base tires are touring style and not anywhere near wide enough for the power the 4th gen coyote and the mt82 can throw down. Once i did that and realized this isn't grampas 6 speed. I got way better also the gears are long use the lift less shifting and don't be afraid to rev the engine. The factory shifter and clutch are ok but i would recommend a short throw and better clutch.
I agree. I have the Ford short shift. Make a big diff. If you get a 4.10 axle ratio the short shift is a must. If I didn't have the Whipple I'd go 4.10. Would take lightning fast shifts. Have 18" stock, and want stock 20" wheels. But since my car is for Defensive Driving in the city I'm going to need some better 18"tires. Don't think I could put wider on the rear since they're base 18" black stock wheels.

I replaced my stock with dc8s 10 inch rears with a modest 285 on back and 255's up front on 9 inch wheels just running nitto nt555. I thought about changing up to 4:10s but i will eventually go forced induction. Btw how do you like the ford short throw?

I like it. My daughter had it put in and didn't tell me. Was I puzzled. Thought I was imagining things. Was wanting to put 4.10s, but since I have the Whipple 3.55s should suffice. I like the way the tires on the DH look. But I need all weather. Every day car.

Cool that was a nice suprise im sure. The 3:55 is a good choice withe the whipple. I may just go to the 4:10 and keep the 3:55 for when i eventually go whipple. I understand the daily part had to run my gt daily while rebuilding the 3800 in gramps my 98 oldmanmobile which is my daily. Too many tools here in the tampa area. I may try out the steeda tri ax and a new clutch with stainless line.
