Subject says it all.

I receive a software update last night. When I started up my Mustang, I noticed my custom settings for primary & secondary colors as well as gauge cluster theme were all set back to defaults. There are few others I may have set and then forgot, but I'll find them in due time. What surprises me is that Ford hasn't learned how to save the customers settings BEFORE the update and then restore them after the update. End Rant.

Something new from the update: When i shut the engine off, I am presented with a question regarding disabling motion sensors. I am assuming this is an anti-theft thing. If I don't disable them and someone bumps the car, what happens?

Ford's security package offers at least one interior motion sensor, as an additional layer of security.

The option to disable is welcome by pet owners. It allows the vehicle movement sensors and open door sensors to be active, the car and console secured, while allowing a pet to move around inside.

It would have been nice for Ford to explain this.

I am assuming that prior to this update All sensors were ON.

The '24 Owners Manual is 550+ pages. I have an original copy of the 1965 manual; it's 72. :giggle:

I did find some explanations for the system in the '24 manual, starting as Page 85.

I'm given an option when exiting. I always select the default. :bandit:

Yep, Page 96. "Ask on Exit" was another defaulted option. Grrr.:explode:

Or senile grandparent … although it has been a handy selection in other situations as well.

I like how my car is acting/preforming I'm on 10.0.1. I turned off the updates. I see to many people on here having issues after an update, if something safety related comes out in one, I will turn them on but until then I'm all set on getting updates.

What version did you get updated to?

It happened to me a few weeks back but this time I did not lose my custom drive mode. Earlier in ’24 I got an update that whacked my custom drive mode in addition to the alarm exit prompt, colors, etc.

I got Hill Assist and Crash Detection not available, a black box saying Battery Saving Mode. The app says Not Connected Dive Car. What do they think I’ve been doing lol. Driving the car does not reconnect the app, which I never use anyway.

I've been asked the motion sensor question on shift down almost from day one in my GT vert

See page 86 in the manual. This is an option you can turn off. I did originally, but this software update defaulted it to ask the question.

It is also essential for taking the car on a ferry if you don't want to annoy all the other passengers.
