Well, I've got pic's somewhere of what happened when I hit one of them concrete barriers @120+ when my right rear tire lost air in my 87' Mustang back in 1987 ...

It ripped the engine and transmission out of the car as one and they landed on the other side of the barrier and came to rest 100yds down the road.

Thankfully it was 3am and there was nobody else on the road.

Thankfully #2 is I hadn't been drinking and got narry a scratch.

And Yes my Insurance Sextupled.

this is concerning. there is no time to "safely" street race, just less risky ones with more visibility. and the fact you're just ignoring the other people on the road makes me worried for their well being. i recommend you leave the "wrong" speed limiter alone for a few years, at least until you can be less reckless. i know this is going to sound hypocritical because i admitted i raced, and i never claimed to be a saint. racing outside of sanctioned events is dangerous and puts many people at risk and more. i've personally never started a race, and i've ignored many more people that were trying to than i've accepted the challenge from

I did. In contact with them now. I speculate my car may have a lower limiter because it's a base model and the tires it comes with may not be rated for higher speeds like a PP car. But I could be wrong

In parts of California you will be arrested and your car will be impounded for a minimum of 30 days.

Update : dealership says it's part of the Ford Performance tune and is limited to 140 for "warranty reasons"

Well that explains another difference between a whipple stage 1 and the ford performance kit.
