Hi there. This battery concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mustang. Should you need further assistance, please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer and I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end. To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation".
Do you guys actually read the posts before you reply with the same answer every time. The poster you responded too has his car in the dealer now looking at the problem!

You are not doing Ford any favours with your banal posts

Does walk away lock work?
If I remember correctly, for that feature to work, you would need an RFA module which these cars (nor my truck) have. I believe only the EV's have an RFA and this capability.

Greeting seems to imply location approximation ….

Yea, my F150 detects the fob and deploys the running boards and all kinds of stuff. I can't explain to you why it won't work, but I know the hardware missing for us to have it is the RFA module and I pulled the VIN of a few members here that shared it with me, and there is no RFA module on any of them.

@Zig I may be wrong about walk-away locking. It was discovered on the 2024 F150 that does not have an RFA that walk away locking can be enabled. Looking into this with the gurus.

I don't mean to derail this thread, but since this is where the subject came up, I am posting about it here.

@Zig and everyone else: I am happy to say I was wrong about this. I spoke to Livnitup to try and get myself oriented on what is required for this to work, but he says he already added it to the common spreadsheet. It must be a job 2 Mustang or the BCM must have been updated to the latest version for this to be enabled.

My GT is Job 2 car. I have the system but it is non operational. So it's a BCM issue of which I can live with.

I updated my car with my Mongoose-Plus and FDRS not long ago, including a BCM update.

Tonight, I worked with @rugedraw to test some changes for Walk Away Lock (WAL).

I can confirm that it does work. Leave the vehicle with your keys, close the door, walk ~13 feet away and the doors lock.

S650 Mustang Start/Stop failure 1720491757597-iv

S650 Mustang Start/Stop failure 1720491813692-zm

However, there are still a few bugs to work out/figure out.

For example: If you disable WAL on the touchscreen after adding/enabling it with FORScan, you can NOT re-enable it on the touchscreen - it throws an error:

S650 Mustang Start/Stop failure 1720491855306-d

S650 Mustang Start/Stop failure 1720491651923-uw

I did not try to debug it after this (e.g, APIM reset or open things back up in FORScan to see which, if any, values changed after I disabled it via the touchscreen, and to see if I can re-enable it either with an APIM reset or FORScan edit). I will be checking into that tomorrow and reporting my findings back to @rugedraw

EDIT: APIM reset did not fix it. Had to revert my changes, then reapply the new ones to get WAL to work again. Going to try to mess it up again in the AM, then confirm if toggling WAL off via the touchscreen doesn't change any of the three values I initially changed to get it to work to begin with.

I wish I had your issue. That is a good problem to have. I have to start my car by pressing two buttons every morning in order to avoid the engine shutting off at a light.
The Dark Horse does not have the auto stop/start feature...but then again, you have to pay a gas guzzler tax...but at least you won't have the embarrassment of sitting at light with your GT rumbling at a stop light and then go absolutely silent like a EV because you forgot to turn it off....happens to me all the time in my Bronco Sport.

I have a GT that was built in 3/24. I have the start/stop system and no $1000 gas guzzler tax. I'm currently at 960 miles and it has not shut down once. I checked all the conditions for to operate and still no shutdown. I'm not complaining and don't want the dealer messing with it.
I am curious if anyone else has issues with the system not working.
If you live above 5000 foot elevation, you won’t have to worry about it.
I’m around 5,390 to 5,400 ft above sea level.
My Stop /Start sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t .
It depends what part of town you’re in?
I usually turn it off on my Dash Button.

I could never understand the GAS GUZZLING TAX?
I hope the President can get rid of that thing too.
It’s a bunch of Crap!
