Having your ride, what ever it may be, get flooded during a storm sucks! It's always a good idea to move your vehicle to higher ground (if you can) when there is a possibility of flooding from an oncoming storm, storm surge, etc.
Beyond the risk of damaged electrical components, mold & mildew, contaminated fuel supply, etc; EVs face another flooding risk.
Thermal runaway. This occurs when otherwise separated cells in the battery contact each other. The resulting effect is an excessive, uncontrollable temperature increase. Heat will quickly rise, causing destructive explosions and fire.
