Enjoy the forum when you ban all the independent thinking people who provide useful information about S650.

Moderators beware, if you ban the thinkers you will be left with a shallow useless echo chamber.
I’ve been on M6G since 2015 and M7G since day one. The mods on here are extremely fair and lenient for most conversations. The only real no-no is politics which was banned years ago. There was a political/gun sub forum years ago but some members just couldn’t behave themselves.

Not that i’ve been but i’ve heard facebook jail is a real thing, although i suspect not the point.
Facebook jail is not jail for using Facebook. Breaking the law in a democratic country (whatever the method or law) is what results in Jail.

If somebody has been jailed for an offence then a court (Jury or judge) has determined that they have broken the law.

There are specific laws in the UK against inciting violence (via whatever means). For example if you post on Facebook encouraging people to turn up at a location and loot / burn it down for whatever reason, then that is inciting violence, which is a criminal offence. I am very happy that the law allows for conviction of criminals for this action. People like that deserve to have their freedoms curtailed.

Hence facebook jail ? A precursor to physical jail.

I personally don't want to listen to other peoples 'free speech' when all they have to say is the same thing over and over again on a subject that I don't care about!

Well if you don't abide by the Facebook rules (and rules of the country you are in at the same time) then you will get what is coming to you.

When somebody posts something on any social media with the intention of inciting violence or hate then blocking that content is entirely appropriate. Our personal freedoms (speech or otherwise) should never come at the expense of others. Social media posts have resulted in suicides and death to satisfy the perverted needs of the poster and blocking those to prevent further cases as happens in some countries can only be a good thing.

Just because it’s posted doesn’t automatically mean it’s seen.

Well it is easy to tell if it has been so that is unlikely to be a successful defence!

The process of posting is inciting (by definition) - whether it works or not depends on the above.

But if you post to say 'go to No.27 High Street and put a petrol bomb through the letter box' and somebody does it, then I think that is a slam dunk!

Posting and publishing are different acts. Although, at times, specifics do make edits required.

In social media / forum terms posting is effectively publishing - as making something available for others to see.
You are wrong again. Not surprising.

A publisher actively curates and controls the content it distributes, often taking responsibility for the material, while a platform primarily facilitates user-generated content without pre-screening it. Legally, the distinction is less significant, as both can be protected under laws like Section 230, which grants immunity from liability for user-generated content.

OK, this is freaking ridiculous. What started this was a now deleted post that praised the US for having freedom of speech. I responded that England and over 100 nations have freedom of speech (this disappeared along with the original post I was responding to. This had nothing to do with this forum, period. This whole conversation is just pointless and has zero to do with Richard’s video.

I am going to call out false claims. I am sorry it got derailed but it's not a kindness to let people remain ignorant.

Let's get back on topic. I love Richard Hammond's work. I hope he fully recovers and is able to keep making entertaining and informative content. I love how he has always been a fan of American muscle cars even though his peers gave him endless crap for it.
