We will let the OP on the site decide who your post was in reference to. But PLEASE, enjoy a Blessed Christmas...
Dude. I wrote and made the post. I decided who it was for and...news flash...it wasn't for you. I hadn't even read your comment when I posted it because... it's not about you! It was for the OP. Get off your high horse,.man. It's Christmas! And hey, all that aside I hope you have a blessed Christmas, too. For 2025, try not reading into every post on every thread you comment on.

There was no on/off on older cars because there was no ON, they didn't have traction control or stability control period.

The systems are on by default for Safety First, not everyone can handle that much power themselves in all conditions.
The Mustang is infamous on youtube for being out of control and crashing / running into crowds.

That and the car doesn't have the intelligence (my old bmw did) to know it's wet and to do something different.

It's optional to turn it off to push the limits of the car, it's only off in track and drag mode i believe. and in one of those modes it's a two stage off, you still have to press and hold the button to fully turn it off.

Most cars only let you turn it off for when you're stuck in the snow / mudd and it's preventing you from pulling away.

I wonder how many people here remember Chrysler's Sure-Brake system? I think it was the first to offer four wheel antilock, albeit Ford was first with their rear-brake only system offered on the Continental III. I don't remember if you could switch either system off or not, but at one time or another I drove both systems. They were certainly not today's antilock.

Chrysler's Sure-Brake system... WoW I've been around for a while but a new one for me... My first car was a 1960 Dodge Phoenix with a 360 4 barrel and a push button 3 speed on left side of the dash. Do you think that might have it ?

It was offered first on the Imperial only, and a couple of years later a few other models. One of my customers (at the time) had an Imperial, and as I recall it was circa 1973?

I had a 1970 340 Duster, and of course the only real RPO worth getting was the HD suspension, and the 340 came with that standard.
