I figured. Those numbers with headers and octane booster. More like 650-680whp on pump.
That may be true too although the only person I have heard say that is the guy from Murphy’s garage but then after he did some extensive testing said no it was actually pretty accurate. 810 is crank not wheel horsepower. At wheel the stage one kit will get you about 705 to 710 depending on all the environmental conditions.

@robvas most likely headers and open air boxes? Dunno, I've already measured my johnson once in my lifetime so for me it's not an issue of whether it's better than the guy with the Stage 2 cause it won't be hence why the Stages go in sequential numbers.

I run 94 Octane + Stage 1 + Comp Open Air Boxes so can't say I'm "93 and stock + Whipple Stage 1". I have a Steeda X Pipe as well but highly doubt that contributes to much more than noise.

Murphy's Law Garage - This guys video was the most informative! While the others are good this guy seems to put some science behind it.

Example #2 (Stock + VMP Stage 1 AND Stage 2 comparisons)

Example #3 (Brenspeed said may be bad gas so added Boostane and removed the airbox covers on a GT)

Example #4 (LMR Dark Horse with nothing but the Stage 1 kit and Texas DA)

Negative I had a break-in. Of about 1800 to 2000 km and then took it in.

I guess the point I’m trying to make is for me personally a stage two is a little bit overkill. I applaud guys that get them and run them at the track going for personal bests and all the rest of it but for me on the street a stage one is more than enough. I also don’t drive crazy anymore and so whatever does go wrong would typically be covered to a degree.
Gotcha, how you liking the whipple? Scary?

Yes and no. I love the supercharger experience itself; agnostic of brand. I was looking forward to the Procharger as I've never owned a car with that type of boost before and wanted to experience it however they are stuck in limbo.

My 2021 GT Premium had a Roush Phase 2 in it (no other supporting mods) and was an automatic so it was "Strap in, Shut up, Hang on". This time I wanted to try a Whipple and so I did just that. I don't drag race anymore and am not really a Dyno King kinda guy but on the street it is a lot of fun.

One thing that is a little scary is how fast that 1st gear disappears. 2nd gear as well. Once you are in 3rd it settles a little bit. I'm old and so my reaction times aren't that of a 20 or a 30 or maybe even a 40 year old lol. But other than that it is a shit ton of fun.

Now, that being said, I have to tip my hat to the guys running Stage 2 and doing 9 second passes and approaching 8s. Those guys have some serious balls, a lack of survival instinct or both but it takes some skill to row down the track in a manual and make a 9 second pass in what is essentially a street car.

Hey guys, going to be getting a whipple soon. Oil pump gears as well as CS.
-
On fence with stage 1 or 2. I know stage 1 has the warranty. But how has the process with whipple been to actually get them to honour claims made for the warranty? I know stage 2 makes more power and it’s not covered unfortunately. I want this car to live long. I don’t drive stupid and I baby the car. I’d hate to get stage 1 wishing I got the 2 only to have an issue that whipple doesn’t cover with the warranty.
cheers
I went stage 1 and after a couple of years I'm going to upgrade to a stage 2. Now why do you want a Whipple if you don't drive a little stupid from time to time. Sounds like you would be good with stage one. Have some nice power and keep babying your car you won't regret it.

Would you recommend it? Great write up!

I mean stupid is subjective. But I’m leaning stage 1. But if I don’t get a warranty if I do OPG idk, opg for safe of mind.

Everyone in this thread has some valid points; It really depends on what you plan to do with the car.

The first thing I would recommend is that you sit down and have a really REALLY honest conversation with yourself. This is the mistake I made with my 2021 GT. I slapped on a Roush Phase 2 with upgraded cooling, some drag radials and was thinking I was going to be Steve McQueen (re: Bullit). The reality was I was more like Joliet Jake (re: Blues Brothers).

Are you an old man like me and want a little rumble in your seat and a little growl in your driving?

Are you a younger man wanting to have some Fast and Furious meets Need for Speed Friday nights?

Are you a guy who wants to track the car on weekends and chase 8s?

Are you the "Sure man, I'll race you for pinks. No no, it's stock; trust me"

Each of these questions has a different answer.

I’m a young man with an old mind if that makes sense. I don’t race and I’m responsible but I do like spirited cruises where I certainly test my car that I worked hard for. I’m an avid car enthusiast who’s building a YouTube/Instagram brand
