Nice pics.

I've just received my set. I'm assuming you did not have to remove the wheel to install? Tks.

You have to remove the rear wheels to install. The install video does not mention that there is 2 push pins on the under side of the rear fender that have to temporarily come out in order to complete the install installation. The front does not require wheel removal. The kit does not come with instructions for the rear. It references you to watch their install video.

I installed the fronts the moment I got them but have been waiting on the rears. I’ll take a look at that video and get them on tomorrow. I really like the front ones. Really nice to have in CO.

Great photos.

Many thanks for your post on the ZL1 rock guards. I installed them on our Mustang Dark Horse today, largely a trouble free process. Your comment about the temporary removal of the two push pins on the under side of the rear fender in order to facilitate the installation turned out to be a very good tip, not mentioned in the installation video on ZL1 ADDONS website. I drilled the holes for the top screws (rear guards) after glueing the holding blocks into place, as opposed to pre-drilling them as suggested in the video.

When I worked on the installation at the left rear, I found a strip of thin metal inside the hidden space in the rear fender. Kind of “above” the two push pins mentioned earlier. The strip is about 15 cm long and about 2 cm high. Very thin, almost sharp. The strip is pretty much loose to rattle in the fender space. It is only attached on one side, loose on the other. I contemplated removing it, but noticed a black electric wire attached to it. Would you have any idea what that strip is for? Did you see such a strip in your car? There’s not one in the rear fender on the right side of the car.

I looked with a flashlight just now and do not see anything like you described. I also would of noticed a loose part during my install as well.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to have a look! I managed to take a few pictures showing the strip of metal in our car. Not the best photos but it's kind of challenging in the narrow, dark space to get anything at all. Cheers
