It's not that its a sports car, it's that it's "cool"There is a very simple reason why the Mustang is selling less and less. It is a coupe and people don't want coupes any more
In the old days if you wanted high performance you needed a sports car, now everyday cars are as fast or faster, easier to drive, easy to get in and out of, more practical and spacious and more economical.
You really need to want a coupe to buy a Mustang, and most people don't.
Or it was cool.
Looked cool. Made you cool. Sure it had terrible back seats, sucked in the snow, blah blah.
Majority of them were the V6 models in the 'cool' days.
They aren't cool anymore. It was a fashion accessory. People would rather been seen in a Wrangler, Bronco, Land Rover, BMW of some sort, 4Runner, Telluride....
