OP, if this happens to be the dealer that originally received and PDI'd the vehicle, then this is unacceptable. you can find the "Sold To" dealer on the window sticker. if its a different dealer, then they are probably charging you an hour for install, which is insane for the underbody strakes. the fact they were wrapped up in the trunk means that they were never installed as a part of the PDI process. this is the third section of Ford's required PDI record sheet:
S650 Mustang Dealership Charging $199 for Air Strake Install 1744331747256-tw

i have no clue why an oil catch can is mentioned, there is no such thing offered from factory for the Dark Horse

If you are not the original owner, you did not have a lot of leverage to force the dealer to install them because you can't prove the original purchaser did not ask for them to be left off.

The selling dealer already got paid for the PDI so there is no way for the dealer or tech to be paid, unless they commit warranty fraud.

When I bought my car I specifically asked for, and it is noted on the P&S agreement that the front license plate bracket and wheel locks were to not to be installed.

They are still in the trunk in the factory plastic.

But that being said $199 is a rip off, there is no way the flat rate on that is over an hour to install.

I wish I still had estimating software so I could see the exact R&I time and take half of it to see the actual labor rate

I'm happy that my dealer forgot to install those.
I'm driving on an island with super bad roads with potholes that can teleport you to China if you make a mistake and fall in there. I will put them on myself when moving back to Europe, the autobahn is waiting for me.

Oh, NO! Goldenhand - that is so wrong. Sorry you had that experience. I'm in the PNW and can't recommend anyone down there. There are an awful lot of shops out there and some, just like dealerships, are bad. It's so important to try to find a good shop and develop a relationship. I have only one shop that touches my car and the owner handles it all himself. I even have my own parts shelf their lol We have a good understanding and I trust the guy. I don't give him headaches or haggle with labor costs. He appreciates the way I do business and takes care of me. I hope you can find a good shop and not have to ever deal with that kind of scenario again.

It may be a rip off, but many dealerships charge a MINIMUM of 1 hour for any repair. They aren't going to spend a bunch of time bringing your vehicle into the service bay and only charge you for the 6 minutes it takes to install them.

Gee I did not know that!

18 years as a mechanic, 20 as a body/frame tech. ,9 as an Insurance appraiser that had to memorize 50 pages of "P Pages" so I knew what was an included operation and what was not (bathroom breaks, breaks, pulling the car in, etc are considered part of the normal labor allowances) and I never heard that before

It's amazing what you can learn on these forums

Every time I post a certain member of the peanut gallery wants to chime in and make it a dick measuring contest.

Frankly I don't care anymore

My Mustang is so low on the list of things I have an interest in I only come here when I am totally bored out of my mind

And I just realized I am wasting my time, it is Friday afternoon, it is sunny and warm, I am going to grab a nice Dominican cigar and go out and sit in the garage in my very nice Florida home on a golf course in a gated community and enjoy the fruits of my labor that many years of wrench twisting paid for.

Frankly I don't give a f*ck

I'm old, got more money than I'll ever be able to spend, and life is just too effn short.

I didn't put up with it when I was paid to do it, I'm not doing it now

Enjoy it why it lasts folks, I am outta here

You will be better of installing them yourself. Will take about 20 minutes and most of the time is spent the jacking up the car. I only use the dealership when it’s absolutely necessary

They took my strakes off and put them back on for the oil change. Put them on wrong though.. best to just do it yourself.

My dealership argued I wasn't supposed to even have them and then I had to put it on myself rather than waiting for them to open the next day since they closed early when they told me to come in

Moral of the story is...stealerships can't be trusted and if you aint got someone you trust to do it for you... If you can't do it yourself...maybe you don't even need strakes.

So, I don't know what they were, I watched the videos on YouTube, I thought, cool that would be nice, went out and looked under my Mustang GT and it appears all Aussie S650's had them installed.
