Just picked mine up, some happy snaps below. Haven't had a chance to play with it yet - got meetings all arvo.

The smoke issue is disconcerning, if I didn't know about it I'd be sh1tting myself that something was wrong.

Gave it a pull on the way home, hearing the tyres chirp going into 3rd is nice.

It's 30C here in Syd and couldn't help but leave the windows down all the way home!

The dealer only fitted the flow bracket/plate on ther rear plate, he wasn't game enough to try and the front :) I'll be reviewing Adam's video again and having a go myself.

Hi all,

Just took mine for a shakedown and can confirm my Getrag grinds from 2nd to 3rd above 5000rpm. Once it loosens up a bit this may subside but for now the experience matches the reputation. Didn't go higher than 5500rpm, still early days.

My panel alignments were good, the dealer rep showed me 2 other GT's on the floor that had issues, especially where the bonnet meets the front qtr panels, one had gaps that were too tight one side too loose the other and the other had a vertical gap between bonnet and qtr panel.

Luck of the draw it seems!

Hi All,

The current cars to hit our shores haven't been driven much and I'm not sure they disconnect the battery for transport (surely they do, but I digress). Anyhow, plugged mine into a charger today after only 15km of driving and yep, its less than 50% charged.

If you have access to an appropriate charger, just flick the cap off the positive side to hook up, then connect the negative side to the bolt under the strut brace (you'll see wires from the battery connecting here too).

You don't need to remove the cover above the battery (that's the fuse box) and covered thing to the left of the positive terminal is a relay of some sort I think.

Thanks, that's a much more accessible and easier terminal location than the accessing battery under the cover.

Thanks Deano1978, but I might not have made my query clear- sorry. My query is more around the compliance plates that are fitted to cars that show it complies with ADRs etc. These I have seen in the past are always fitted to any car imported into Australia, which of course differs from the Build Date plate which is typically fitted to the car once it leaves the production line.
Does the dealer fit it (used to be a aluminium plate riveted to the body somewhere like the engine bay) or fitted by the state road authority (ie VicRoads for Victoria)?
i just thought this would not typically happen over the weekend (as in your car), but maybe the plate was fitted in the US?
I’m just curious.

PS: Great looking GT ☺
I just checked Compliance on mine, which is tragically currently still held captive in Pt Melbourne Customs, and the Compliance has not been issued (here RAV Public Search). So presumably Compliance is issued after Customs clearance.

Anyone who had their cars on the Tortugas.......taken delivery of their cars in NSW or Sydney metro area ? Or any updates they've had from their dealers ?
My Dealer emailed me with an update last Monday (as below), stating there are 940 cars still in Quarantine!

"just chased up Ford again this morning and it seems like they are still going through the cleaning and quarantine process on the Mustangs that have landed. Still approximately 940 vehicles still in quarantine.

Ford will be shipping these vehicles back up to PK once they are cleared. Nothing is booked at this stage until all cleaning is done… So unfortunately no cleared ETA yet has been sent."

Even if they could clean 200 cars per week, with 940 Vehicles caught up in this Quaranteen fiasco, it would be very unlikely if we will see our NSW cars in 4-5 weeks.

Just checked mine and it also hasn’t been issued. Snooped around today and they are still all lined up in quarantine. Worse than last week - now there are hatchbacks blocking them.

Had the same issue with the N1T3MRE when it arrived in Brisbane, the Detailing mob had to put on charge as it constantly sent out error codes - when I picked up , had to get Ford to clear the codes before I drove home......don't think the battery's are meant to last 4 months without running - will get notifications on the phone after 2 weeks that the car is going to sleep if I haven't taken for a gallop.

You should get the battery load tested. Once they have been below about 80% charge several times they will fail prematurely. I’ll be load testing my DH battery when it finally arrives, I’m sure it’s been well below 80% charge several times since it left the assembly line. And I’ll bet it was as flat as a pancake when it was unloaded at Melbourne.
