Hi All,

The current cars to hit our shores haven't been driven much and I'm not sure they disconnect the battery for transport (surely they do, but I digress). Anyhow, plugged mine into a charger today after only 15km of driving and yep, its less than 50% charged.

If you have access to an appropriate charger, just flick the cap off the positive side to hook up, then connect the negative side to the bolt under the strut brace (you'll see wires from the battery connecting here too).

You don't need to remove the cover above the battery (that's the fuse box) and covered thing to the left of the positive terminal is a relay of some sort I think.

You should get the battery load tested. Once they have been below about 80% charge several times they will fail prematurely. I’ll be load testing my DH battery when it finally arrives, I’m sure it’s been well below 80% charge several times since it left the assembly line. And I’ll bet it was as flat as a pancake when it was unloaded at Melbourne.

Just checked mine and it also hasn’t been issued. Snooped around today and they are still all lined up in quarantine. Worse than last week - now there are hatchbacks blocking them.

Good idea, will add it to the list at the peace of mind service.

Question for those that have had their cars a while...does your ambient lightning decide to reset itself back to the default orange out of the blue? I've set mine to blue and twice in the last couple of weeks I've turned the car on and the colours have default back to orange and the tire pressure units measurements have defaulted back to whatever the default is from my setting of PSI. I wondering becuase the cars sit so long to be shipped to Aus the battery might be struggling

Yeah that's probably the first thing I'd check. Keep the car on a battery tender for a bit and see if it stops maybe?
Many people have electric gremlins because of batteries being low or damaged from the long wait.

Yeah, I had the same issue. Some things reset such as the lighting and the alarm defaults and such but others remained such as the cluster setting and all the entertainment system. I hadn't thought about the battery being the issue so will get that checked.

No, haven't experienced that.
However, when I haven't driven it for a week or two, I know that the battery state is getting low when the Ford Pass reports that the vehicle has disable all remote features due to low battery volts. This gives you an early warning heads up.

I did see this Ford Pass app warning quite a few times in the first several weeks of ownership, because I was sitting in the car (engine not running, but Accessories on) in the garage learning the touchscreen GUI for hours on end. Obviously these familiarity sessions were draining the battery without the engine running.

Next time you see this fault condition. Is the voltage low?
If you have a DMM (Digital Multi Meter), measure the battery terminal voltage, or is the Ford Pass app reporting that the remote features have been disabled?

FordPass hasnt alerted anything, I’ll use a dmm I see what the voltage is…cheers

Yes I have noticed the same thing! tyre pressures reverting to Bar when I had it set to PSi. No low voltage warning however.

Just measured the battery with the car turned off and it’s been sitting there for the last couple of days and it’s measuring 12.08v so the charge is good.
I guess we can just call it a feature 😀

Yes, I wouldn't call that low.

I've read on this forum that some Mericans have had issues with settings reverting back to defaults for no particular reason.

Currently working in Adelaide, but when I get back home Monday, I'll lift the bonnet and measure my battery volts. It will have been sitting there for 17 days since last driven. I'm curious now.

Hope I can remember to do that before the urge to go for a drive overtakes every other priority!

Talking about Ford Pass try and jack your car up while its locked. Alarm goes off and you get a notice in Ford Pass. Why was I jacking my car up you ask, to clean the front wheels of course you need to spin them to get to every surface.

I had the car locked but with windows down to help speed up the off gassing process, and reached in to get something off the passenger seat... and alarm went off!

Have also had the car off and locked, and jacking it up.

It's a mad panick to find the keyfob inside the house somewhere to shut the damn thing up!!! :giggle:

The alarm is loud!
