I posted this on another thread, however anyone awaiting a car from the Tortugas or Tosca Comedy of Errors Fiasco, might consider doing this:

After outlining my concerns about the extended exposure to the corrosive nautical elements, I recently requested a series of under car photos on major components when Servicing the car Pre-Delivery, to confirm the absence of any damage or corrosion. They were quite OK with that.

HOORAY and Congratulations !! So that was a Tortugas or Tosca / Port Kembla Car? Lucky you - finally some movement!!! Maby I will see mine some time this year - and I live under 10 Klms from Pt Kembla Wharves lol.

You can check the CEVA Transport Booking here: Just Add the VIN with “VID” option : https://cevacarcarrying.com.au/vehicle-tracking/
Thanks mate
Mine was on the Tosca and my dealer had another Dark Horse on the Tortugas which I believe is ready for pickup as well so I guess yours should be ready for delivery really soon. Ive checked the CEVA tracking but my dealer is about 1350km from port Kembla so I guess they will be waiting for a full truck before they proceed with delivery.

The dealer probably can't see past all that black crap they spray under there for transport

In this case the Black Crap" protection is a positive, however there are other key components that could be damaged or corroded - Oil Cooler, Suspension, TailShaft, Cables, Bolts etc

When I finally get mine it will be going straight on my 2 post hoist so I can inspect it for problems and remove that black crap off of the exhaust because I can’t stand the burning smell that lingers around the car until it’s completely baked on.

It's not a very durable paint, so any solvent should remove it.

I only removed it where visible, in particular the exhaust tips. My car even had overspray on the rear wheels and tyres.

So long as the protective Black Crap does not catch fire...........I don't mind it so much.

Its Like a corrosion security blanket - or so I tell myself at least lol.

Hi everyone
I got a message from my dealer today! Apparently my Dark Horse is on a truck and due to arrive at the dealership this Thursday 27th March. I’m trying not to get too excited just in case there’s another hold up.
fingers crossed I should have it in my hands early next week 🎉

I got a similar notification. They’re hoping pickup is Monday. I’m away for 2 weeks from Tuesday so unfortunate either way

Received email today! Not long to go!

Great News ! Looking good, hopefully its at your Dealer, but as Ford Messages are usually two weeks late and it's a little ambiguous - is it referring to arrival in Australia or the Dealer ??
