The low sales don't agree with you. And, for $73k you can get a Corvette that outclasses the DH in every way.

The Mustang has always been the "economy" performance car. Cars like the LX were amazing bargains.
I would simply refer you to my first point: everything is relative.

If I had wanted a Corvette, that’s exactly what I’d have. I didn’t. They look like Transformers/ Ferrari knockoffs to me. My DHs sound a lot better to me and are fast aplenty. And unlike a C8, I can actually get in and out of a DH.

To my third point, I voted with my checkbook and all are invited to do likewise. I have zero interest in sales figures, low or otherwise. My only sales interest is in my garage.

min talking about the logical timing, whether 2030, etc. a new platform is a necessity period, whether it’s 2028, 2030, etc.

It also remains true that this generation is a dud. As long as it continues, its failure continues. That’s the reality.

Stop trying to move the goalposts. It doesn’t work like that.
I'm not moving anything. The new gen is rumored to be 2030. This is the mustang until 2030. Period.

I have to respectfully disagree on this.

Three absolutes have always existed in the car price vs. perceived value continuum:

1.) Everything is relative

2.) You’re pretty much gonna get what you pay for

3.) Value lies solely in the eyes of the guy who just wrote the check

I just bought two nearly identical handling package DHs. (My wife rode in my new manual car and pretty much instantly decided she wanted “her own“ automatic.) Anyway they both stickered in the low 73K range. I consider them to be one of the greatest automotive bargains of my long life and only regret I couldn’t afford a third just to put in mothballs for a rainy day.
goid points. But you are a rarity.

yes you are. I never mentioned it had to come before 2030.

but the sooner the better, since this gen - really dating back to 2005, is a dud.

Take your straw man back to the cornfield my guy.

You mention it every day like it's going to release the next day. It's not coming until 2030. You really going to mention it multiple times a day until 2030 "my guy"?

LOL. You discredited yourself so often for so long, the only nausea is coming from your own stench. Go post on some tea time forums and be happy. Life is too short to carry around whatever baggage you try to offload here.

All you have to offer is “it’s all doomed.” And then follow us around nipping at our heels in your replies, even when you get a “bite,” it’s all gums and no teeth. Just more drivel like the post I’m replying too.
YAWN again with passive aggressive insults - grow up

Then stick to your old car and stop moaning about Mustangs on a Mustang forum. Unless you can come up with something new don't waste server space.

39,6? Great deal depending on situation/packages.

Make sure that it was not wrecked...even on a test drive.
Always check the car out thoroughly even if it’s new because delivery damage occurs. There was a guy on FRF who was there for his Ratpor’s unloading off the trailer at the dealer and the horror show ensued. They managed to drive the truck off the ramps crooked, causing pretty significant damage. Enough so, he declined the delivery. Ford did step in and put him on an expedited re-order.

My ’01 Lightning had a service done before I bought it off the lot. I think Oasis showed the repair.
I wonder what would have happened if Ford had damaged my ’17 Rap? Mine was one of the first non press fleet, non influencer trucks released to the public. I was pretty stoked in December of ’16, but it kept getting pushed back for dealer delivery. Out of the blue in mid January Sales mgr sent me pics of her on the delivery truck.
The same day he called, very, very apologetic explaining that the truck had over 100 miles on the clock, it was held back for QA by Ford and he swore on a bible they were not screwing off in my truck. I really think he was genuinely concerned about the sale falling through. I was like... QA? ok, warranty’s good for another 100 miles so, no blood, no foul. See you tomorrow.

They left me the punch list to show it was Ford who put the miles on.
I doubt I’d have seen if they repaired anything by way of a collision.

I remember in the older days the V6 model sold quite a bit more than the V8, but I remember also reading that in recent years it was closer to 50/50

Now, looking at Cars.com and searching the whole country for 2024/2025's that are on the lots, the breakdown looks like:

Lots of leftover GT's for the 2024 model year:

183 Dark Horse
470 EcoBoost
1,330 GT

Much closer for the 2025 model year:

337 Dark Horse
1,234 EcoBoost
1,628 GT

Also 4,211 autos to 935 manuals
Shows availability yes, but I'm more curious about the actual sold numbers. Leftover GT's to me shows that the ecoboost is actually selling at much more volume since there aren't many leftover ecoboost models. Anecdotally, I see many more ecoboost models compared to GTs and I live in a relatively high population area. If the number of overall mustangs being sold is so low, i'd imagine the number of GT's being sold is even worse than expected

Yea, hard to say without seeing the numbers. Cheaper models probably sell better.

nope. I mention it whenever it’s relevant. You’re not putting any timeframe in my mouth.

fact is you came up with a straw man and now you you don’t know what to do because people like you can’t admit wrong.

sad.

LOL

“oh no. Someone hasn’t settled for mediocrity with the new mustang.” The horror!

If you can’t take the call to do better, then go back to the basement where it’s safe.
