It isn't just for cooling of course. In the UK it is as much for demisting!

'Auto' is full climate control so the car gets to the chosen temperature by warming or cooling the car and then maintaining it.
Sounds good. :like: All my Corvettes and the Mustang are strictly toys. Never drove any of my Corvettes in the rain. My Mustang has been driven in the rain once. I'm blessed to be able to pick and choose the summer days I want to drive. Don't use the radio in the Mustang either unless it's a cooler day and I have the windows up. Nothing like driving on a beautiful day with the windows down, listening to the exhaust, and grinning ear-to-ear. As I said, I'm old and easily amused. šŸ˜€

I think you can have the best of both worlds. I could have ordered a base GT, but again I was thinking ahead about the resale value. Maybe that's a crazy way to look at it, but that's my reasoning. Technology and gadgetry don't impress me, particularly in a car that I typically drive 2k-3k miles a year.

It's hard for me to leave my performance cars alone when it comes to modding. I've already added a cat-back AVE exhaust system, new wheels and tires, and slotted/drilled rotors. I'm giving serious consideration to putting a blower on it. The only problem with modding is that you never get your money back, and you limit the resale demographics to a degree. I've been down that rabbit hole many times.

Don't expect a positive response then!

If you just post insults and rudeness then you will not last long on here
I’ll take that under consideration. Thank you my good man.

What's that have to do with mustangs? Bird flu affects engine prices?

Eggs are like gas one week it's up the next it's down. I was buying them for $2/18 pack a couple weeks ago and they'll be back down to that again soon
President Biden at the end of his time in office ordered 20 million egg laying chickens killed to try and stop bird flu. It will take about 27 weeks to replace them that's why eggs cost so much right now. Gas and car costs so much because of corporate greed and their legal obligation to make as much as they can for their stock holders. Everything affects everything now a days.

I am an Old Guy, and have been fortunate enough to have toy vehicles for many years. This is my first Mustang since 1973. I'm happy with the car but disappointed that at the high end (GT Premium & 401) Ford did not dig into their parts bin for a HUD, folding mirrors, surround view camera, and a digital rear view mirror among other features.
Yes, my other cars are a Lincoln Aviator and a Genesis GV70, both of which are optioned up.
These creature comfort items don't diminish the performance nature of the car, but in my view they add to my overall enjoyment of car.

I agree with you 100%. :like: I have friends who think all the latest options are the best thing since sliced bread. Personally, they're not for me and I don't enjoy or need them.

I am fortunate enough at age 78 to own a new 2024 GT Mustang. When I considered buying my car, friends said that I'll have the same new car that high school seniors are driving to school. I guess this has changed since the price of a Mustang has really limited sales. I attended many car cruises this past summer. One Friday night cruise draws nearly 1000 cars. Walking through the cars, I counted three 2024's, my GT, a EcoBoost Convertible, and a Dark Horse. I guess I now own a unique car.
I spoke to a friend who sells for the largest Ford Dealer in our area. I asked him how many Mustangs they sold last year. He said about 10. Today they have one white PP Gt 6 speed, with Recaro's on the showroom floor. It was ordered and refused. This dealership has between 200 and 300 vehicles on their lot. I guess things have changed. I can't see Ford doing much with the Mustang other than offering it but at a higher price. It is what it is.
That's how I ended up with mine. 2024 GT Premium, 401A package, 6-speed, Rapid Red with metallic clear coat, and blue Brembo brake package.

Someone ordered it, and then backed out of the deal. The blue brakes weren't a deal-breaker for me, so I jumped on it.

I'm pretty sure that I have the only red mustang with blue brakes in my hometown.

I’m about the same age as you, and the one thing thatI’ve learned is that everything is a compromise…..don’t fight it flaunt it!

Unless you happen to have "fuck you" money... which, sadly, I do not.
Even if you have unlimited funds, some things just aren’t worth it. I sold my Corvette and was pining for a C8. In ā€˜22 they were unavailable, in ā€˜23 they were over priced, ADM’s of $10k to $20K, and in ā€˜24 the dealer shenanigans were just too much to stomach. Enter the Mustang. I saw a few, did research, went to a local dealer that offered a $7K discount. The car was cleaned and prepped for a test drive. I signed a sales order, and said I would pick it up in a few days when I moved the cash to a checking account. The dealer said don’t worry about it, and delivered the car to my home and told me to bring a check when the funds were available. I got 90% of the Corvette fun for 70% of the cost, and I was treated like a customer instead of a Mark by the dealer.
There are way more new cars in my past then in my future, which makes compromise really easy when someone makes my life easy. So having the cash to write the Corvette check doesn’t mean that it is the best decision. And I ended up with 2 extra seats that grandkids fit in!

I don’t know I bought my 24 C8 for over 6k off of MSRP.

That’s great. Beautiful car! Enjoy !
My experience wasn’t so great, the local dealers were giving me the runaround on pricing for an ordered car, and the in stock car price kept changing. Typical treatment from a volume dealer. I was partly to blame, as I may have been a little rude when they asked what monthly payment I had in mind.
Glad you had a better experience.
