As you may know the EU versions (I do own a DH) and eventually the UK versions doesn't come with a remote start keyfob (there's no remote start nor the panic buttons), but they can be started using the Ford Pass app (very annoying as it often lag and not very reliable).

I've read about other people trying this and failed (the remote start wasn't working), but maybe they are about those cars with no remote start at all (neither via Ford Pass), but I wanted to give it a try.

I've bought a cheap remote keyfob on Aliexpress, in the specific this one (with all the buttons: unlock, lock, engine start, trunk, panic): https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005007433632329.html (NOTE: the EU version come with a 433Mhz remote, I had to do some research matching the FCCID of my original remote, yours may be different!), it come in a week (superfast from China), and it's of a incredible quality, 1:1 with the original remote, you can even swap the parts between the two (I've switched the original battery cover with the horse logo, and the physical key as it come with a non-cut key of course).

I spent another 30 minutes to find the key slot in the S650, in the S550 it's under the cup-holders, I read on the forums it was in the center console and I thought it was like the Mach-E, a visible slot in the front... but then I finally found it under the "carpet" in the middle console, the key will just lie there horizontally (i placed the keys with the buttons upside/visible).

The programming is the usual one (and yes, you need your two original keys): open the car, close all the doors, place your first original key on the key slot, press the start button (don't start the car, just in accessory mode), wait for 5 seconds (in my case the center display didn't shown anything unusual), shut the accessory mode off, place the second original key on the slot, repeat the process, then place your new key on the slot, turn the accessory mode on, in this case it took like a second to wake up, the turning signals started to blink for a second, then the center display turned on to show: "Key successfully programmed", shut the accessory mode off.

At this point the new key was working like the original ones, and also the remote start (lock + 2 times engine button). Oh I didn't tested the "panic" button, I don't even know what it does, but I didn't want the car to start honking in the garage, I'll test it later. Additionally, the remove rev works as well (enabled it via ForScan, as the EU version comes without it), but it was working already with the original remote (unlock, lock buttons).

Happy rev.

That's some very good news for the European Mustangs who don't have that future. Good work.

Did your car come with active exhaust? GT or ecoboost?

Not related to mine (I believe it's the same for anyone), I didn't know this was a thing:

"Too many remote starts have occurred. Drive your vehicle to reset"

Yesterday I was playing with it. It's also mentioned on the manual. It looks like you cannot remote start it more than 2 times in sequence, without driving it (actually it's enough to enter in the car and press the start button, even in accessory mode to reset it), otherwise it'll lock the feature until the next manual start.

I was curious of why this was a thing.. and it looks like it's related to the security measures to not let you start the car indefinitely (and overcome the time limit of the remote start for more than two times), so you will not risk to intoxicate someone if the car is sitting in a closed space, without you to know.. or something like this.

This is huge, thank you. I know some tuners take a lot of money to reprogramm remote start into your EU Mustang since US keys don't work with the different frequence. Just having to setup the china-clone-key with remote start and it works from the get go is amazing. Will forward your post to some friends who own a Mustang

Hello, those of you from Europe who managed to program a key from aliexpress, does remote rev or just remote start work for you?
Welcome lighting doesn't work for me either with the Chinese key

Everything works (start, rev, welcome), remote rev (as mentioned in the first post) was working already, even with the original keyfob. But you need to re-program it via forscan, otherwise the remote rev will not work from the keyfob (stock, there's only the remote start via app in the EU version).

Sorry, a step by step instruction on which cable you need, how to configure the software, which parameter you're going to change, would be hard to lay down remotely... I would recommend to switch to the ForScan subforum and learn (at least) how to connect and use the software.. then it'll be pretty easy.

This is superb, the key fob all works great! :)
Thank you very much npole! Much appreciated!

I'm struggling with accessing 7E0-02-04, however I've created a thread in the FORScan section for that.

Replying to this for reference (if anyone will read this thread sometime in the future). The "7E0-02" address has been updated in the most recent versions of ForScan to (the proper one): 7E0-162 (and so 03 .. to 163). So the address for the remote rev is now: 7E0-162-04
