First post here, please be kind ;-) Just bought my 24 GT Prem (love it). Was in the market for an entry level DH, but kept losing out to other buyers while waiting for a price drop at end of the year. Then thought about a GT prem with HP but couldn't find what I wanted so I ended up with a great deal on a GT prem (6 speed) with no options. no regrets, I grew up building muscle cars so I thought I would go this route and tinker with it myself. First mod wheels and tires to get rid of these tiny stock wheels/tires. I will likely play with suspension but doubt I will lower it. Im 60 yrs old, things have changed a lot since I was a performance enthusiast. Ive been driving trucks for the last 25 yrs, am loving to be back behind some road fun. This ride will never see a track of any sort, just a daily street driver.

anyway, I want an aggressive stance, and obviously more grip. But, I don't want to be changing tires to suit the weather. I have done some research and tires like the Nitto NT555 have some safety issues at cold temps? It's not really an all season anyway. Would prefer a staggered set up with the widest that will fit front and back. Looks like all season tires have their width limitations? Not looking for road grip perfection, I am sure any upgrades, even all season tires, will look and perform better than the 255's that came stock.

Appreciate any help! Things sure have changed since I was into this. Loving the technology! I am an engineer having worked in the automotive industry for many years, I am excited to start playing with my new car.

The top 2 choices for all seasons are Michelin Pilot sport all season 4 and Continental DWS06. I have the Michelins on my S650 and the Continentals on my S550. If you stay with the 19" diameter, width choices become limited. If you want max rubber, going with 20" diameter gives much more selection for wider tires... 285 front and 305 rear widths fill out the fenders nicely.

thanks! I had been looking at the Pilots but they did not have the sizes I was leaning towards for 19" wheels. I recently interviewed for a job at Michelin here, job is perfect for me and I would get HUGE discounts on tires. Also was hoping to stay with 19" to keep cost down, for other goodies. Thanks again!

What he said! +1

PS: Ran a set of the Conti DWS 06s for 3 winters here in "almost Canada". Drove 'em in up to 6" of snow (which you hopefully you won't see in SC!). NO complaints! Several friends and associates had the Michelins and spoke very highly of them.

Good luck!

this is from steeda
and if you will go with 315 I think you will need a spacer so 305 is the safe choice here

I run the Continental DWS06. Great all season tires. The Michelins are better but cost quite a bit more.

I have a dark horse with the PP. I took the 305/315's off for the winter and put on 255/275 Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus 3 UHP All Season on a set of GT PP wheels for winter driving. They seem to stick well, not as good as the Trefeos in the heat, but well enough for the bit of winter driving that I am doing with the car to not feel like I was going to slide off the road when the temps dropped below 45. These wheels were mounted on 25mm spacers. I went with a 35 on the profile to keep the wheel circumference the same as the stock wheels, but I should have went with the 40 profile to fill the fender gaps a little more and dealt with the speedo being off a little bit.
