First post here, please be kind ;-) Just bought my 24 GT Prem (love it). Was in the market for an entry level DH, but kept losing out to other buyers while waiting for a price drop at end of the year. Then thought about a GT prem with HP but couldn't find what I wanted so I ended up with a great deal on a GT prem (6 speed) with no options. no regrets, I grew up building muscle cars so I thought I would go this route and tinker with it myself. First mod wheels and tires to get rid of these tiny stock wheels/tires. I will likely play with suspension but doubt I will lower it. Im 60 yrs old, things have changed a lot since I was a performance enthusiast. Ive been driving trucks for the last 25 yrs, am loving to be back behind some road fun. This ride will never see a track of any sort, just a daily street driver.
anyway, I want an aggressive stance, and obviously more grip. But, I don't want to be changing tires to suit the weather. I have done some research and tires like the Nitto NT555 have some safety issues at cold temps? It's not really an all season anyway. Would prefer a staggered set up with the widest that will fit front and back. Looks like all season tires have their width limitations? Not looking for road grip perfection, I am sure any upgrades, even all season tires, will look and perform better than the 255's that came stock.
Appreciate any help! Things sure have changed since I was into this. Loving the technology! I am an engineer having worked in the automotive industry for many years, I am excited to start playing with my new car.
