But M2 and M3 sales are up, not down like they are for the Mustang

So for someone to say all 'coupe sales are hurting', isn't true.
If a car sells one unit, then sells 2 the next year, it's growth of 100 percent and doubled, but still terrible sales.

So unless they give actual figures, it's inconclusive and incomparable.

At least they weren't record low sales for the entire time they have been producing the car, that's for sure.

You know, like for the Mustang.

So it's kind of like the losing team in a game getting excited that it wasn't as big of a blow out as usual even though they still lost the game.

Wouldn’t the better analogy be, you lost but you’re glad you didn’t lose as bad as the other team? šŸ˜‚

Funny way to say one is on the way up and one is dying.

Anyway...According to the BMW Forums, 2022 M2 sales were:

11,753 total USA (approx)

They're probably around 20,000 a year for the M2 in 2024.

Now can we count the regular 2-series cars? We're counting the EcoBoost Mustangs so why not. That might add another 10,000 to the sales number.

What about the M3 or M4? Can we count any those? I would say those are competitors to the Mustang. But I don't think that's fair. M4 is the coupe. No idea if they sell more 4 series than 2 series.

Another interesting tidbit:

That 500 word essay was a funny way to say the Mustang sold more.

I don't want the Mustang to go away. I have come to terms with it if it does. Ford needs to turn the shop around.

There have been times where the Mustang was the best car to buy. It's turning into not one of those times again.

But the level of denial with some people is just crazy.

BMW would love for the m2 to have Mustang's sales numbers.
Can they get their warranty and quality issues to go along with it?

They also weren't selling 130,000 M2's ten years ago. Thats the problem the Mustang has.

I don't think they care that much as they sell a lot of others cars and the Mustang is the only car ford still sells.

The Corvette in the US has been flat since 2021. The mustang has been just about flat since 2021. Dipped a little. Economy affects Mustang buyers more than Corvette buyers.

BMW doesn't actually release sales figures for the m2. If it were number 1, they definitely would, so they use percentages instead. The m2 sells less than the mustang.

So there is no coupe that sells more than the Mustang.

If another coupe sells as many units as last year's mustang, it would be considered a huge success.

Edit.. the screenshot below are Corvette sales in the US. The bottom being 2021.

During the period between 2020 and 2022 model years, GM couldn’t build them fast enough to keep up with the demand due to supply chain issues and covid restraints. Hence people paying up to $25k ADM to get one during that time period. Once the ball got rolling, they had a record year (2nd highest ever) with the 2023 model at 53,785 units and built 42,934 in 2024 as the economy cooled down and the new model demand started to level off. The Corvette has never been a high volume build anyways as it’s a niche product that usually is bought as a weekend toy. It doesn’t appeal to the average car buyer who is looking for a performance oriented daily driver. Our 24 Mustang GT serves as both a daily driver and some weekend fun while our 23 C8 is mainly used on nice weather weekend drives with the targa top removed. Besides economic conditions, I suspect that whats skewing the Mustang’s production numbers downward is it has gotten financially out of reach for the younger buyers and is moving towards only being affordable to older performance oriented buyers with more disposable income. This is moving the Mustang into the same niche category as the Corvette. They’re both great cars and I enjoy them both. Just my humble opinion….

So has every useless post you've made since I disproved all coupes are not having sales problems
If you think the number one selling one has problems, then they all have problems.

New England Patriots finish 3-14, but they won the superbowl 7 years ago!
Mustang was the number one selling this past year, not 7 years ago, so that analogy doesn't make sense.
