Today I got a wiring diagram based on my VIN. The person who looked it up for me said that the wires for the turn signal are there and it should be working plug and play.

Anybody has knowledge how to read this diagram? For me this is 100% Chinese

the first diagram is a layout of the connections to the mirrors on an NA Mustang. importantly, the caption says "without memory", but the diagram still shows the indicator. however, this specific diagram mainly highlights the wiring for the power adjustable mirrors for vehicles without the memory buttons, as the wiring is vastly different between the ones with and without. the second diagram is simply showing you that the BCM is still connected to the indicators even on mirrors without memory functionality. here is an explanation i put together

S650 Mustang Are the side mirrors with turn signals plug and play? 1736701765940-2b

the red boxes are wires that go somewhere not shown on the diagram, and the numbers are the cell and page for it.
the green boxes are connectors.
the cyan boxes are which pin that wire is in a certain connector.
the dark blue boxes are splices, where wires are split apart or come together.
the black boxes are grounds.
near the wires, you will see 2 or 5 character "words", like "BN-BU" (brown-blue) or "GY" (grey). that is the color of the wires, along with the wire colors being in the diagram. if its just 2 characters, the color is solid. if its 5 characters, the first 2 are the wire's main color, and the last 2 are the wire's stripe color.

with memory functionality, it is very different wiring

and it looks like despite not having memory functionality, all overseas Mustangs use this "DDM and PDM control the mirrors" thing, which means it might be possible to retrofit memory seats and mirrors on overseas vehicles that are LHD. RHD vehicles might be out of luck due to the lack of a door handle that can fit a RHD memory button cluster, if one exists

Thanks for the detailed explanation.
I'm so 0 technical that even this doesn't say anything to me. I have 0 experience in electricity and all the technical words.

But from reading the tone of the message this means that I can't use mirrors with integrated turning signals and have it working with the wiring I have?

i cant say for 100% sure, but the evidence of wiring diagrams and some posts on other forums from the previous gen certainly imply that it will work. just be sure to enable the indicators in the DDM and PDM

That means, just buy it, try it, and if it doesn't work, there should be another way to get it working by sending it to a body shop. There is no other option but to do so.

It appears there is no DDM or PDM without memory seats... turn signal wiring shown there is directly from the BCM.

thank you for pointing out my mistake. it might then be a matter of plugging it in, and if it doesnt work, exploring the BCM tab of the spreadsheet for possible solutions

actually, i just checked, and vehicles without memory seats actually do have DDM and PDM modules. i checked this using a 100A EcoBoost and a 700A Dark Horse with recaros. though, your point about it being wired directly to the BCM is true still

Very strange that there is a wire directly from the BCM while none of those Mustang trims have integrated side mirrors

probably leftover from shared designs and programming

Lucky me if it's the case. Can't wait to change the mirrors. I have never ever researched something this long over a simple car part.

Sorry to hijhack this topic, didn't want to open a thread just for 1 question and thought this would be the best place to ask.

When ordering side mirror covers from the dealership, it says 'Paint to match. Primed'.
It also comes with a picture of a black mirror cap. What color does the mirror cap come? Do you also have to paint it if you want the black one from the NPP?

I think as mentioned they come without a color, but with the primer color which has to be painted to the color you want it to be.

Today I got an answer back from the very few Mustang specialists in the country.
They both said exactly the same thing.

They could fix the turn signal issue on my car BUT I'm not allowed to order the side mirrors myself from the dealership and they will charge me approximately 5 working hours + extra fee for ordering the parts to do so and work for around 110 USD an hour.

The issue I'm facing right now is that my mirrors could be plug and play and they won't tell me about it. They will still charge me 5 hours + overcharge the part price from the dealership.

If I risk it, order the parts myself and it's plug and play I would end up hundreds and hundreds of Dollars cheaper. The only problem is, if it's not plug and play, the garages would not accept my side mirrors to work with even if these mirrors are exactly the same as which they are going to use for my car.

Dillemma!!!
