Australian 2024.50 Mustang reviews have recently appeared on Youtube.

In one of those videos, fingerprints on the 13.2" infotainment screen are very apparent.

Time to consider how to clean the screens.

Not sure why there would be fingerprints on the left side of the glass. On the right side of the glass where there are touch screen icons, yes - which can be removed with a microfiber cloth wetted with clean water.

I just put my order into Ancor Room, strut brace plate, sunscreen covers and matt right hand drive screen protector. I didn't go for light tinting as some states are funny about tinting your lights might be ok but the car is going to bring enough attention to it as it is.

Touch screens, along with gloss black trims, are areas of a car interior that will always be in some state of dirtiness. Like death and taxes, a touch screen will nearly always have fingerprints on it. The best thing we can do is manage this issue with regular attention using a couple of key products.

Glass Cleaner - probably the most obvious choice, just make sure that it is not ammonia-based like most Windex branded products are. For this application, and any automotive glass cleaning for the matter, you want something based on isopropyl alcohol. Stoner's Invisible Glass is a staple of mine and is readily available. I also really like P&S True Vue and Gyeon Q2M Glass Cleaner.

Rinse-less Wash - mixed at the standard dilution, these products are completely safe no matter how often you use them. I prefer the polymer-based products like Optimum No Rinse, P&S Absolute, in fact I would expect them to help limit fingerprints too. The surfactant-based McKee's N-914 and DIY Detail Rinse-less will also work. If you want something readily available, Bowden's have an option now as well.

Interior Detailer - these products generally have an element of IPA in them, so they flash away to leave a streak free finish. For that reason, they work well on interior screens as well. I would say that some are better than others, I've found Carpro InnerQD, Koch Chemie ASC and Gyeon Interior Detailer have a higher IPA content and less "dressing" potential, so they don't leave streaks like, say, P&S Swift or Ethos Interior Detailer would.

Towels - like any glass or glass-like surface, you want a low pile towel for this application to limit/prevent streaks. For glass, I'm a waffle weave sort of guy and favor the TRC Dry Me A River towels in small or medium size. But you could use any dedicated glass cleaning towel, or even the little suede coating applicators, which would be handy to stash in the center console.

Application - no matter what product or towel you chose listed above, you would apply the cleaner into the towel and wipe the screen from there. I wouldn't spray directly onto the screen, you risk getting liquid into areas it shouldn't be.

Naturally, there are screen protector options available from the aftermarket sector, but just like a phone, these will still show fingerprints over time. If you put your chosen chemical in a small spray bottle and the towel in the glovebox or center console............................ it will be a quick and convenient way to deal with the dreaded fingerprints as needed.

Thanks D, always thorough and informative. :like:

As per past advice, a bottle of Invisible Glass from SuperCheap (of all places!)
Nice to get decent things from a local big box store.

Haven't had a chance to use it, as yet.

The Earth Choice window cleaner (Woolies and Coles) was tried on the RAV's windows, but produced disappointing results with regard to smearing and streaking.

Moving away from Windex, the appeal of this one was being ammonia free, inexpensive and readily available.

I'll give this one last chance on the touchscreens, but otherwise it will be relegated back to doing house windows and mirrors only.

You'll also note the 20mL spray bottles from Amazon, one specifically to keep in the glovebox for the touchscreens, as per your suggestion.
Obviously from Aussie stock, because they were on my doorstep two days later!

Edit:
Looks like, as of today, TRC FTW towel is back in stock.

Hey Guys,
Long time viewing but thought I would take some time to thank you all especially @5.0ALM & @DFB5.0 for your content and guidance through out the process, it really helped. I still have no word yet but last time I spoke to the dealer (a month ago) they mentioned that it might be another few months but nothing exact. Will follow up for a vista screenshot soon. I am just starting to prep by buying a few things and came across this screen protector. Once I receive it and it's on the car I will share some photos.

Please do.
Some photos and thoughts on the packaging, as well as the process would be great.
These films are fairly vulnerable, so you would hope they arrive in a sturdy mailing tube.
