I also just got a call from the dealer. They aren't going to update my car until Monday. Apparently there's a 7 hour upload time (!!!) - I assume this relates to uploading data to the control unit. The dealer has complained to Ford, who have said that a compressed patch is incoming.

The reason they are waiting is because:
  • They want other dealers to do the process first and advise how it went.
  • Ford have warned them that if the upload is interrupted at all, then this can essentially "brick" the vehicle. So, the dealer is terrified to do this.
Apparently a few dealers here in Melbourne are running the process over this weekend, so my dealer will get status reports on Monday morning. Then they will put my car back in the workshop. Sigh.

Getting closer, but no Mustang this weekend...

Almost there! Keep the faith. It'll happen soon I'm sure.

Thanks mate. The moral support here has genuinely helped, haha. I can't wait to see your baby as well - I had a good look at the Dark Horse at my local dealership and it was extremely tempting. Such a stunning car. I know you'll love it.

Worth telling the dealer to ensure the battery is plugged into a charger while the update is happening. The battery on my car was <50% charged when I picked it up (I luckily avoided the recall)

Well I'll be damned. Just got a call from the dealer. Car is updated and fixed. Pickup tomorrow.
Still don't know if I should trust it! 🤣
I felt exactly the same way just before I escaped IPC Prison.

Good luck to all those still waiting. Also the dealer offered three services for free as compensation. I would suggest pushing your dealer for something.

Yes, and remind that the DH delivery fee was, how much again?

Well, I got a call from the dealer this arvo - update has been done successfully. Car should be ready to pick up on Monday afternoon. Just waiting for confirmation as they are going to send it in for detailing over the weekend. Phew.

That’s great news, I’m happy for you mate.
Which ship was your car on and when did it arrive in Australia.

Well, the unexpected happened.... THEY GAVE ME My CAR! 🤯🤯

For those still in 24C35 jail, hang in there. They will fix your car soon. I'm still gathering my myself and my thoughts. All I'll say is that the car is amazing! Sound is amazing! Feels like I finished a marathon, but it was worth it. I'll post photos in my other thread

Congrats - the pain is worth the wait - enjoy - spam us with DH porn - found the tyre pressures from delivery were a bit higher than I liked, and pressures would climb quickly even on a short drive (were at 35 all round cold but would climb to 38/39)......have dropped to 32 and after they warm up sit at 35, no issues with traction in the wet either at these pressures.

I noticed the same on mine. The dealer delivered the car with the tyres overinflated. Mine were also 35. Dropped to 32 last night.
They also didn't install the underbody strakes, but they are in the boot. I'll either just fit them myself or get them to do it with the 3 month inspection. I've seen some people prefer to leave them off cause they can scrape over speed bumps and driveway entries.

Surprisingly.......there are no marks on mine, checked after all the floodway driving last weekend.....I was more concerned I may have lost one due to the water height on the road (about 70mm)....the winglets are a soft molded plastic, but still surprised that they were not marked at all.

Did they take the stops out? In one of those awesome vids Madinc did, you could see the orange stops in the front :like:

Yeah they did. They left the stops in there cause the car went to MADinc on a flatbed truck and those lift the car up a little so it makes transport a little safer. They took them out when they did the update and pre-delivery service.
