4.74% for 60mos.
5.04% for 72mos.
They also give another 0.25 - 0.50% discount for active duty military and veteran's.
Once I get my VIN, I will get a pre-approved loan and take it with me to the dealer to see if they can beat it. If not, just sign the check and drive off in my new car.
I was the same way when I was in the miltary. When I retired, (From the military), I had virtually no debt and it took about 5 years to build up enough credit history to get a mortgage. Like you said, the only problem is that you need to have credit in order to get more credit. Not quite fair when starting out. Catch-22.

My son was on USS Enterprise. He was in from 1997 until I donāt remember when. He kind of got screwed over in the navy. So he decided to be on leave more than he was supposed to be. He was to be intelligent specialist, but he lost a grandma he was close too, he flunked a test like a day later. he and a girl that also flunked it, studied together. He did better than she did when practicing. . They took the retest, she passed it and he flunked it. They compared tests. She had test they studied for, he had stuff on his they had never even talked about or studied before. Thatās when he started having a lot of leave time.
anyway he ended up being a master helmsman. Luckily he has a job he loves

I know the feeling. I joined in 1980 and my first 5 years were a bit difficult for me, so I also took a little bit more leave time than I was supposed to. After a job detour, I was lucky and had a couple good Chiefs and Officers that saw something in me that I didn't feel at the time. I managed to get back on track and wound up spending 21 years in. Our son got lucky too and Had someone helping him also, but then that man got transferred or something. Canāt much remember what happened because that was like 27 years ago. I just know when we put him on the plane back to Norfolk then got a letter stating he was AWOL, I called them and said we just put him on the plane a few days ago. He apologized, said he was back(maybe was in the brig )but they had sent out 500 of those letters. I said if you sent out 500, then youāre not doing something right!
another method that may help establish credit age is to open a line-of-credit attached to the checking account as overdraft protection. Although, hopefully never used it may get reported and in turn establish age.
