I just replaced the center speaker, sound is much better!

I have a 2022 Mach E GT/PE as well, and there are forum posts about replacing that center speaker for better sound, and it did work! Thought i would try it on my 2024 Mustang GT as well.
Could not find any write ups on it unless i was going to gut the whole system but since i had a leftover speaker from the Mach E, figured may as well try it.
I already did the subwoofer swap out with the Pioneer that is in here and forums, big difference. I just put the center one in, sound much clearer, now its not life changing sound, but for the price and if you dont want to change everything out, it could be worth trying. The speakers i got on amazon for $50 for the set.
The center speaker grille just pops off, use a trim removal tool on a corner in the front, and you will get it to pop off one by one in about 30 seconds. Just lifts straight up. 2 screws hold speaker in place. Unplug the factory plug, I think you have to push the tab down and pull. I cut the wires off the factory speaker and soldered to the new one. Popped it back in and it was louder for sure. I did have to adjust the fader more to the back since now there was a lot of highs that were not there before and lower the treble down a few steps, but with that and the updated sub, it is better than before. Again, not life changing or super hard hitting, but much better than the factory B&O it comes with in my opinion.
I have included the pics as well.

From the pictures I’ve seen, the OEM subwoofer looked like paper cardboard trash. This OEM speaker looks like it’s out of the same parts bin.

I wonder how it would sound if all of the speakers were replaced keeping the factory amp. I have the BO system and I personally wouldn’t consider it “premium” in a 2024 with this price point.

i just dont want to start tearing apart the door panels and rear deck to start replacing them, but im sure it would sound better. they obviously use the cheapest parts they can find for it.

You don't need to replace any speaker except the sub.
I quote myself:

Get the PAC Audio AmpPRO AP4-FD31.
True plug & play (driver side in trunk) with necessary harness included.
This delivers 6 channels cinch preout + remote out and speaker cables for front woofers, mids, center, rears and main sub.
Fader, balance etc. will work.
It has also an optical digital out, but then Fader will not work.
Only thing you need to do is either connect the a pillar tweeters with a separate cable to the mids in the doors, or route the new cables to the rear where you place the new amp.

I kept the original speakers and use an 8 channel DSP-Amp from Helix and it's a day and night difference.
Only replacing the speakers worsens what already is a bad sound setting.

@disneyfun1 can you verify the ohms on the original speaker?

That's where they get ya. It's not a B&O system, it's a marketing ploy to get more money out of it. Hence why it says designed by B&O, lol.

You’ll need to redo the whole sound system to get this to sound acceptable. I swapped speakers at first and got less crunchy highs but nonetheless still mid quality sound

By now I have to imagine b&o wishes they’d never partnered with ford.

the black/white went on the connector on the right side if you have the new speaker with the plugs on the bottom, you can kind of see it in one of the pics above, i thought the may have been marked on the factory one as well, but i could be wrong, i was just going through my pics on where i put them, hope that helps

Just completed this mod. It's definitely noticeable. OBTW you end up getting 2 speakers. If anyone wanting to do this, PM me if you would like to buy my extra one.

And yes, black/white on right, black on left looking at speaker from rear. Speaker instructions shows grd on left, so it confirms.

I keep reading just unplugging the center speaker and setting it the system to fade to the driver makes a difference. Has anyone done this? Also apparently turning off the EQ in forscan is also a big help
