Chevy has released C8 ZR1 performance figures

Car and Driver states that Chevy has announced performance figures for the C8 ZR1: 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, 1/4 mile in 9.6@150 mph. Chevy stated that the times occured on an unprepped drag strip running 93 octane.

For $180+, twin turbo 5.5L, 8 speed, 1064 HP, 828 TQ and ZTK PP, this car should run 9.6@150mph or better...geeez. I'm more impressed with the GTD.

I wasn’t the first but given the z06 posted a 7.10 and this has 400hp more, I’m sure with a weight penalty….its going to be in the 6’s. At 233 mph top speed the next car on the list that post a speed that high is well over a million. If this car msrp is under 200k it’s going to be a steal.

And I’d use that more than I’d ever use a sub 7 ring lap…

I don’t think the GTD Will be able to sniff a 9.9 or even close… it’s gonna be more of a 10.50 car that people all say “It’S nOt a DrAg CaR”

Well, it’s not a drag car. Has never been marketed as such from day 1. All that aero probably keeps it as a 10 second car.

ZR1 has an option with less aero, which is probably the trim that did the 9.6 1/4 mile. Good for GM, should be a great car. Will be curious what it does around the Ring. Ford is also taking the GTD back in better track conditions, so we’ll see if they can improve upon their first time. They obviously think there’s more there or they wouldn’t go back…

It's only a "bone stock production" car because it comes with everything already lol It's twin turbo over 1000hp and it only ran 9.6. Does it have to be 2000hp to run a 9.5, like geez.

The s650 with a supercharger is $60k.

Definitely disappointing 1/4 time. No doubt about it.

It ran 9.6 @150 on street tires, on slicks and skinny’s it’s probably in the 8’s. Look at the demon 170 times on slicks, about the same power with a lot less mass.

so they need more HP than the vette

And they can't even do it on pump gas like the corvette

A new E30 blend of ethanol/gasoline allows them to run higher ignition timing and boost without fear of detonation. The E30 blends Sunoco’s 260 GT Unleaded race fuel with 30-percent ethanol. A VMP Performance Fuel Pump Voltage Booster box increases fuel pump output to keep up with the engine’s demands.

Oh and what else it has a built transmission because the stock 10R80 couldn't do the job
