The vette has ridiculous power. OF COURSE traction is an issue at that level. It was on street tires. On a prepped track with proper tires, the thing will likely be in the 8s.

the zr1 is hurting feelings already and it’s not even out. Never been a vette fan, but have to keep it real. GM knocked it out of the park. Wow.

the Gtd is a home run. But the zr1 is a grand slam.

The fact they could build a car and sell it for 175K msrp is mind boggling. I know adm is not included but I really expected this car to start at 205k from GM the fact it’s 30k less is

Definitely some competition, out ran a 1M plus hypercar, casually tags 175 on the back stretch…. OOOOOOOOOF

Watched this earlier.

mite been obvious this car would be a winner from the beginning.

many one who doubted was just hoping against it.

if they take it to the ‘ring, it’s going to do a serious job there. The things turns really tight and retains its composure where even HyperCars struggle.

pretty sure it’s going to whoop tje gt2rs on the Nurburgring. It hasn’t really had the length to spread its wings in these tracks. It will on the ring. And the gt2/gt3 are already ahead of the Gtd.

It is great that the ZR1 is an awesome car, an awesome American car as well. That said I highly doubt any Ferrari, Lamborghini, or McLaren owner is really going to care. A car is so much more than just numbers.

I hear what you’re saying. But it’s still embarassing to get your butt horrendously kicked by “just a corvette.”

it may not have the cachet of some Ferrari’s lambo’s etc. but when it smacks them around in front of their girlfriends, there’s no getting around the hit to the ego.

It’s like God’s answer to the swollen pride of some exotic car owners. Head swelling a bit too much lately? Smack. A reality check courtesy of the zr1.

the c8 is a remarkable platform that does a lot with a little and then turns around and does a ridiculous amount with a lot.

But for people that have been mildly successful in life but will never have the resources to own said cars mentioned above now have an option that is “under priced” for the performance to experience what most never have. And that is just wild to me that this car is seriously about to embarrass some uber expensive big name brand super cars. It’s never happened before and I think it’s awesome!

Oh it’s happened before. And most likely it will happen again. But as insanely great as the ZR1 is it will always be just a Chevy. Top speed and track times are great, but which car would you rather pull in front of a Ritz Carlton with. And yes that matters.
