Always best to try to work through the dealer first.full disclosure, I’ve previously prevailed in lemon lawsuit
Not just no,HELL NO. OP doesn’t have a statutory claim in any state yet. Even if he had the repeat safety issue or 4x repairs wit 30+ calendar days down, once you ring that bell, it won‘t be unrung. Every subsequent dealer service interaction will be a search for a reason to void the warranty in any aspect, which could be presented in court.
Even if you have a problem child car, it’s much better to try and work through the dealer first, Ford next and give them every reason to WANT to make your problem right. IOW don be that guy.
of course good sir.Shouldn’t that every dealer?
Ed Zachary.big difference between what should be and what actually is.
Yes, both underfilling and overfilling can cause a CEL. So can a lose cap on the oil fill and even an improperly seated oil dipstick, among other things. Even using the wrong viscosity grade. So will oil pressure issues. Can I toss a guess out there ? As many times , humans cause most of their own problems. I know I sure have over the years.
He mentioned adding a quart of oil , and did not explain the procedure he used to make sure it was correctly done. Would it be possible to overfill and get a check engine light ? The car was fine , he added a significant amount of oil , then car was not fine![]()
simply a guess and question to those who know way more than me. ?

And you know that number is cooked also. It is probably much more.$2.3 billion for recall and warranty issues.
