No DH has AS/S.
If no Dark Horse, manual or auto has it, I am ready to order one.
For your 2024 DH, has it been mandatory to have Ford Pass?
I woud not like to be monitored all the time wherever I go

That' doesn't really "disable" it like people are talking about. They want it turned OFF, period, no matter what you're doing, and without having to do something (e.g, press the AS/S button, change to another driving mode, etc.).
Precisely

You think folks bought a 60k + gas guzzler (91 octane recommended) and paid the gas guzzler tax care about start/stop techno and saving a few bucks....i guess?! but that is funny stuff

Please tell me you are trolling?
Both things can be true: wanting to enjoy a gas v8, and wanting to ever so slightly reduce emissions while doing so.

Seek therapy if having to push a button after starting the car is that triggering. It could help with this.

My 2024 Darkhorse (dunno when it was built) doesn't have it. I'm not required to have ford pass. The in car telemetrics can be disabled, but no way to verify. Previous mustangs you could pull a fuse for the cellular modem. You could also swap out the cellular antennas if you wanted to be proactive. However all this info may get downloaded anyway when you go in for service.

Ah...the troll comes out. Only trolls get triggered but your response does make me appreciate the positive post(s) that don't result in disparaging remarks.

Rando fees for posturing? Duh...
If their math is correct it only saves around $1000 (in estimated fuel cost) over the lifetime of the vehicle?

IMO, auto stop/start does not save that much gas except perhaps on the EPA test cycle. However, it does create extra wear and tear on the starter and battery.

I will help with our hatred of AS/S.
Someone decided it for us. We don’t much like that. In fact, we will go to war over it.

Besides that, it can cost you almost 2 seconds in a sprint up to highway speeds. Example:
You must make left turn on to a 4 or 6 lane divided highway. We drive on the proper side of the road here, so for for IE, NI, GB, IoM, etc. consider it a right turn across a divided hwy.

there is a middle island you can make without fully crossing. You manage to cross the first side to the island, but one car is coming and you must stop completely. AS/S engages and shuts off the car, now you need to take off again but, the brake release, engine start delays you going to wide open throttle.

This actually happened to me in my Raptor. I ended up bypassing it once I upgraded the stereo as the start up would scram both of my amps.
Oh here we go - somebody else who doesn't like being told what to do, but is happy to dish out their own opinions! Crack on with your war

No stop start system I have ever driven with (lots) has ever behaved the way you say, but you keep on with your rhetoric

Depends on the bulb but yeah even cfl's it's very short and there is almost no warm up time on a hot restart.

As for cars ... The cross over time of an average car is 6 seconds for start / stop to net lose less fuel.

A v8 might be shorter time if Greg's is correct that the idle fuel consumption is around 1 us gal / hr.

My Mercedes it's around 1l/hr (~1 quart) at idle.
My commute takes 30 mins without traffic (when I do 6am starts)
Average traffic however is 15 mins. (8am starts)
So engine idle wastes 1/4l of fuel per trip.

Doesn't sound like much but without traffic I use 1.5l per trip. With start / stop it's 1.55l on average. Without it's 1.75l

It's quite a percentage change and soon adds up. Effectively 2l (1/2 gallon) per week

Or enough to buy a pint of beer

The UK manual does start stop so euro dh's may have the feature.

A feature we don't really have is uncontrolled crossings on divided highways. They do exist but super rare.
It's about 0.6l/cylinder/hour apparently. My experience is similar to that in long queues such as toll booths, ferry terminals etc

Have you ever pulled into the garage only to have the vehicle stop the engine once parked and then it restart before you turn the ignition off?

It doesn't, in the sense that the starter and battery are uprated for the job. More modern installations have an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) which completely removes any issues and reduces the number of components.

Oh dear. Big Brother really doesn't care what you do, and certainly isn't 'monitoring YOU!

There is nothing mandatory about Ford Pass, but the Mustang is a connected vehicle which can be very useful.

As for being tracked, wasn't there just a scandal about manufacturers collecting driving info on connected cars and 'anonymising it' and passing it onto insurance companies who were able to track the data back to the vehicle as they didn't do a good enough job as removing personal data. Like it had exact make / model / trim / age / colour and overnight location zip code. so unless a neighbour has an identical vehicle they could work out who it was.
Yes there was a scandal published about that matter.
