I'm surprised no one mentioned WHY the window retracts! Yes, it is to help insure the sealing (from weather), but it is also to allow the window clearance. There are several instances where the slight unroll didn't work which caused the window to break.

Incidentally, when I checked into getting my windows tinted (I did not), the company mentioned they don't do the top 3/8" of the window. Geez! I wonder why?
I did my top 3/8, so, time will tell. I've done that with others that had no window frame and as long as they sit for a day or two, never had an issue.

What I did not do was the maybe 1/8 inch of bubbles around the rear side windows and the rear window, so yes, there is the tiniest gap between tinting and factory tint/edge. but it is only maybe 2 bubbles wide?

For me, I'm ok with that because for me, the intent is to keep as much sun out as possible for my wife, plus, when I was done, it gave it a heck of an accent marking on back and rear.

Some might not like it, but, I actually am liking it more, and if I ever decide, I can scrape 'em off and do over again....

The instructions I was given do not work.
So I went down to my friends window tinting shop and he confirmed that as far as he knows there is no way to disable it even though there are instructions online how to do it.
It calls for one to close the window all the way while inside the car then to press n hold the wonfiw for 2+seconds. Uh, pressing it no matter how long causes it to open.
And lifting it doesn't work. Held it up 10 seconds and it still lowered.
My buddy does a trick to fool the car into thinking it is closed.
Flip the latch on the door that normally flips when you close it.
DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU ENSURE YOU UNFLIP IT BEFORE CLOSING IT.
He has had people do it then close the door and break the latch.
Anyway, tinting done and it looks great.

Mine are 35% tint. I had them tinted last Friday 3/7 and haven’t rolled the windows down yet. I will do that today though.

They are 5%.

Yes, dark at night, but I'm use to it since 1988 on my wife's Thunderbird.

But, with that being said, I'd probably NOT recommend anything darker than 20%, jmho

Do I see 1 million bubbles on your window or is it the reflection of your ceiling?

haha, no, but I do see them in the pic also, those are reflections of the popcorn ceiling from the lights on.
I have some pics of it when outside. But I think the sun glare might be a bit distracting.

Now, there is a gap running around the tint that was put on where those little dots are put on by the factory, Part of the anti shatter engineering.
The tinting, being 5%, is thicker, so, it won't stay for years on those tiny little factory dots, so, there is a 1/8 gap. I can see a tad more light when I am inside and driving around, but it is not an issue. Not enough to distract.
I actually like the effect though because it looks like there was an accent put into the window when looking at it from outside.

That looks really sharp! You all are convinving me to give police a second reason to pull me over (no front plate is the first).

For everyone's reference,
https://www.tinting-laws.com/
It has links for each state, and they are different state by state.
(do not use this as gospel, if I were you I'd check your DMV website for confirmation)

According to the link above...
For reference:
Florida:
Tint darkness for sedans:
  • Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line.
  • Front Side windows: Must have a VLT of at least 28%.
  • Back Side windows: Must have a VLT of at least 15%.
  • Rear Window: Must have a VLT of at least 15%.
California:
Tint darkness for sedans:
  • Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield.
  • Front Side windows: Aftermarket film must allow more than 88% of light in, or minimum 70% VLT if combined with factory-tinted windows.
  • Back Side windows: Any darkness can be used.
  • Rear Window: Any darkness can be used.
Tennessee (I can confirm this matches what I found on the TN DMV website.)
Tint darkness for sedans:
  • Windshield: Must allow more than 70% of light in; any darkness on AS-1 line.
  • Front Side windows: Must allow more than 35% of light in.
  • Back Side windows: Must allow more than 35% of light in.
  • Rear Window: Must allow more than 35% of light in.

NOT ALL STATES PERMIT RECIPROCAL, so, if you cross state lines, ya better know what is legal, and the potential cost (PER TICKET, and you can get multiple cops pulling you over as you go in, drive around, eat lunch, go home....driver beware)

Here is the law in my miserable state

Post manufacturer add-on window tint is prohibited on the windshield of any vehicle below the AS1 line or 5 inches from the top of the windshield, whichever is less.

On passenger cars, convertibles, and station wagons:

All windows with add-on window tint must have at least 35 percent light transmittance.

On multipurpose vehicles, vans, and class “E” trucks that have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) equal to or less than 10,000 pounds:

Windows on the driver and right front passenger doors with add-on window tint must have at least 35 percent light transmittance.

All other windows can be tinted to any degree of darkness.

I'm waiting on my new build for the 25 mustang. But my previous blue bullit had 5% all around and 35 on windshield. Love the look. Seeing out wasn't so bad. Don't do a lot of night driving so it works out. Trying to find the best tint guy here. Love your ride!!
