Engine Oil Change Trap Door Please.

I have a Dewalt 20V ratchet. It takes less than a minute to remove (or install) the hardware to remove (or install) the shield.

@roadpilot .... then there are the two different kinds of plastic clips that can and do break. Still a pita compared to previous and how it could be.

I just completed my second oil change and seriously considered leaving the shield off especially since I don't drive her when the roads are wet. C'mon @Ford Motor Company, a little trap door to access that filter where oil doesn't get on every damn thing would be great.

@bimmerborn I wonder if these would fit our cars... it was a very cheap upgrade:

Those links are the top two pieces that replace the stock shield on the bottom, giving us the trap door... at least on the S550s.

I'll check this weekend for these nutserts... but if anybody knows if they are there, please let us know. A pic would be great!

This is from my 2015 - if we don't have these (circled in red), this K-brace can't be added. If we do, then most likely we can do this mod!

Of course I'm assuming the oil filter is in the same location! lol

my Mach 1 used to have the undertray trap door for the oil filter. i honestly prefer this new undertray, even with the underbody air deflectors i have to remove as well. i dont know why, but i just do

I am a PP owner. No. There is no flap and oil gets all over the K brace when removing the filter.

Well, I went under the car when I got home from work and it’s not even worth taking a picture. It looks totally different!! I can’t even see if those nutserts are there because almost everything is covered.
