Thank you! Sometimes I wonder if all the work is worth it, but then it does allow me to enjoy things like this and having fun with my car on the track. My wife talked me into buying a car just for fun a few years back, which was a first for me after spending 20+ years focusing on providing for my kids. There is a reason so many old people have sports cars and nice shops...the kids are grown!
I've got another 3.5 years (not that I'm rushing that!) before I'm an empty nester. At that point, we're moving to AZ so I can focus on this hobby year round. Michigan is just too hard on cars and only being able to truly enjoy it for 6 months a year is painful.

I'm in South Georgia, so I can pretty much enjoy my car year round, but from December through April I'm working so much there isn't a whole lot of fun to be had. Living in a warm climate is great for auto enthusiasts. I spent most of my early years in places with snow, and that is certainly not for me!

I will say this, enjoy the kids while they are home. We made a lot of sacrifices raising our kids, but I wouldn't trade a minute of it. Even if I never were able to get a sports car or build a nice shop, I'd sacrifice it all again.

We are all jealous. Looks amazing, well done!

Also, I can relate on the kiddos. I've always wanted a sports car and was finally able to make that happen last week when I got my GT. My oldest has his own car now and my youngest is finally out of the booster seat, so the Mustang finally became a reality! Maybe one day I'll have a shop like yours.

Is that a painted black dark horse symbol of Mustang on the floor way back there!

I’ve been working on cars since I got my first piece of junk at 15 years old, which I had to share with my sister. That was over 30 years ago, and since then I’ve done a little of everything on my vehicles. I’ve rebuilt engines under the carport including using a cherry picker in the dirt. Fun times as many of you know! Fortunately the last 20 years I’ve had an enclosed garage at my house where I at least could work on the concrete. Still, it gets old rolling around under the car and taking up space in the garage where my wife can’t park her car while I’ve got a project going on.

I finally was able to build a nice shop where I can keep all my tools and work on my vehicles at my pace without being in the way of anything else. I honestly never thought I’d build a shop like this, but I’m excited it worked out. Looking forward to many future projects!

I’ve been surprised at how well the spray foam insulates it. Even with two 12x12 roll up doors and four single pane windows, the mini split has no trouble keeping the temperature level. Now, we’ll see what happens when it’s 95 degrees with 100% humidity, which will happen in a few months. šŸ˜‚

Some big 30" floor fans will help with that.....
I built the same size shop at our farm a couple years back and found that putting in an HVLS fan made the biggest difference. I put one in the other shop after the fact because even with the a/c running it didn’t ā€œfeelā€ cool. The HVLS fan made a huge difference, so I went ahead and had the electrician install one from the start in the new shop.

@krisk ......"Now, we’ll see what happens when it’s 95 degrees with 100% humidity, which will happen in a few months"......... My prediction is that it will still be excellent as I am sure you know the insulation value of spray "foam:" to reject cold and heat is essentially the same. Having spent a month in Georgia (Brunswick/Jekyll Island area) in my youth your AC leg of your HVAC system may work a but hard but should be okay. You're going to have some fun times in there!
