I want a DC so bad, but none of them have "grabbed" me yet! Not sure what I am looking for but this one is not it.

Let me know if anyone gets it and how it is
I just bought one for my F-150 to see what I think before I mess with the Stang. It's install is much less intrusive so figured that I'd start there to see what I think. Will post back once I have it and installed it.
The Fitcamx grabbed my attention for the Stang because of its OEM like fit and obscurity.

I don't feel comfortable having a camera recording all the time. May cause battery to die when not driving it too often.
have a different camera and it’s on parking mode and plugged into my 12V outlet. Over a year with it and no battery issues

Just read up on this very dashcam and watched some videos.

The front camera is built into the housing. You take off the old housing and clip on the newone that has the front camera attached. Before that you simply unplug the windshield wiper sensing harness, plug that into a Y cable(where one plugs back into rainsensor plug and other plugs into camera wire coming out of housing). It is powered via the rainsensor wiring.

The rear camera plugs into the left hand side of the housing and you run that to to back of the vehicle, but I would test it first b/c some install it backwards and its upside down depending how you turn/situate it. Don't want to waste adhesive lol.

A separate fuse kit is required to hardware in order to get "Parking Mode." Otherwise you dont have parking mode.

It comes on when you start the car and turns off when you turn off the car, and does Loop recording to a microSD card(up to 256GB Max). Used a 32GB in my old dash cam for years w/o issue on 3min loops.

Gonna be one of the fist buys for the new Mustang. I like it being powered w/o having to do fuse stuff or using a dangling cord.

Many dashcam hardwire kits include a box that monitors voltage and shuts off power to the camera if the vehicle battery falls below a programmed number.
I have my camera plugged into the USB port of the mirror and radar detector is plugged into the cigarette lighter port. I just shut the car off and they both turn off when the car goes to sleep after about 30 minutes and it does not affect the car like not starting or running the battery down.

The S650 does have a battery monitor will shut down systems (including the remote monitoring, remote start, and such) if the battery goes low, the risk of an excessive battery drainage doesn't exist if you plug it in the usb port(s).
If you hardwire it, it could be different (it depends of where you connect it...), however all the dashcams with the parking recording have a battery monitor system as well (internally or via hardwire kit) where you can set the minimum voltage when the cam will shut down completely.

Actually i'm using the usb mirror port, coz i found it enough for my usage: always on during driving and around 30 minutes of recording while I leave the car for short shopping and such. I do have a hardwire kit (I was using in the S550), but most of the time I leave my car in the garage or controlled parkings for long time, so I didn't wanted to mess again with the wires... the usb port there with a short cable is so convenient.

I received and installed my Fitcamx for my F-150 this weekend. The camera for my truck is not quite as "integrated" as the one for the mustang but equally unnoticeable once installed and wires are tucked. I bought front and back for it and the rear camera wire tucked nicely into the headliner all the way to the back. I'm not sure how this will work for the coupe mustang as I have a convertible, but its a very easy & clean installation.

I'm looking at the FItcamx because of its integration with the existing housing, didn't want to have to take my camera up/down every time that I park the car with the top down or worry about it being stolen.

The phone interface is pretty simple, connect via WiFi, has a window-in-window view of both cameras or toggle between only one or the other. You can download videos to your phone while connected or pull the SD card to dump the whole card.

I will be ordering one for my mustang now that this camera checks all the boxes for me. Only caveat that I will add is that the camera came from mainland China, got to the US in 2 days, but then sat at customs for 9 days waiting the USPS to pick it up for delivery.

Received and installed my Fitcamx today. Install took about 30-40 mins with most of my time consumed with one clip (top passenger side) that didn't want to come off and then didn't want to snap back on. The other thing that consumed a bit of time was trying to figure out how/where to run the cables without crimping anything to badly. Newly installed cover/camera looks good, integrated into the top plate as if it were OEM which is what I was going for. I already have a Fitcamx on my F-150 so I knew that I was happy with the app & camera's picture quality.

I didn't get a good video of the install, so here are a few before, during, & after pics that I snapped. I marked in blue on a few pictures the couple of key pieces of information. The first is to take the small mirror post piece off first, I used a small flathead screwdriver to pop this off. The second is where the Rain Sensor connection is (Driver's side) as the install video they provide is for a Mach-E and its on the opposite (passenger) side. There were also about 4 other connections up under there presumably depending on your tech package. I also used the un-installed new cover to determine where to pry for the clips with the clip tool and then the un-installed old cover for where to apply pressure when re-installing.

Do you lose the USB port when doing this conversion or is it still there?

Thank you for this! Looks like it went well and keeps that OEM look nicely.
