What I want to know is for the upcoming ICE version (Sixpack), why is the standard/base version only coming initially as a 4-door sedan while the "High-Output" version will only initially come as a 2-door coupe. That seems like a weird product launch strategy to me, am I alone in that train of thought?

I just want to know who out there is buying a fully-loaded Scat EV instead of an S550 GT500 with some miles
People who want a brand new car, or an electric car

It looks like you can get a new Scat Pack EV in the $60's with the right discounts. Are GT500's that cheap anywhere?

Now that's the real question

It’s the maintenance question. When maintenance is a simple task or a constant charge.

low priced battery powered hot rods don’t say much for the longevity of the specific platform

They’re trying to maximize sales using a certain body style is all. Initial launch with a cheap, 4 door body style could bring in more buyers (general consumers). 2 door getting high output engine is to market towards the enthusiasts.

If you launched them at the same time you would probably get more sales on the 4 door body. They kinda can’t afford to have one outdoing the other currently with their issues going on.

I said fully loaded, which MSRPs in the mid-80s. Yes, you can get non-cftp's for that price or cheaper.

Literally no one. Charger ev has been a massive failure, which most knew before it even launched
Agree, but not because of the DH. Honestly, if I was buying an EV, dodge might be my choice, except the range is so dang short compared to other EVs. Even the Lucid Air Touring (not GT) has more range. That said, compared to the BMW i5M60, the range is similar with similar performance and 15-20k cheaper. Both are good cars, but range kept me from buying one.

Once I can get 300 real world MPC (miles per charge) in the fast charge zone of 20-80 percent, and I can get those in 10-20 minutes (very possible), EVs are likely on the list for me because IMO, it will outclass the ICE in almost every respect.

That said, I would love to see a “cannonball” type challenge with modern EVs run. Maybe not an exceed the speed limit version, but to see who has the best coast to coast performance. Of course, that will not stop people from trying to break unofficial records either.

Yup agreed, it has nothing to do with the DH

Well, apparently, someone has already done the "cannonball" with an EV and it stands at 42h 17m according to Wiki. This is not far off the 41-43 hour estimated time that google maps shows. (Red Ball Garage Manhattan NY, to Portofino Inn in Redondo Beach CA...

Anyway, The DH is a great car, the Dodge is BIG, it is VERY heavy, and it certainly feels like it was designed by people at cross purposes. I get it, Dodge wanted a car that felt like a car that people are used to driving and buying, but that adds a lot of weight as compared to how other EVs are constructed.

But you can't argue with the test results either. It beat the lighter DH with both drivers. I feel one of the drivers in that comparison was much better than the other, which is why it was a blowout in one contest and much closer in the repeat, but it was still an outright victory for the dodge. I think on a road racing course or on a autocross course, the DH would probably wipe the floor with the Dodge.

That's the thing about tests, they showcase the strengths and weaknesses of each vehicle. I see a lot of people plugging their ears and shouting "It's not FAIR!" like they are in second grade and they just lost a game in gym. It IS a fair test, but it's only one test. There are others out there too, and I am sure the DH would come out on top in a number of those.
