Still debating in my head whether its worth $500 or not, what’s your opinion?
Ultimately, that’s gonna be up to you. Personally, I’m happy with the upgrade. I always drove my S550 in Sport Mode using the paddle shifters, and it’s one of the things I’ve been missing since I switched to the S650 so it was worth it for me. And the black trim was a little bonus since I’m in the process of swapping all the interior trim to be black as well.

The shifts aren’t quite as snappy as I’d like, there’s a definite lag, but I’m getting used to that and do still prefer the driving experience using the paddles. But if you’re happy with the A10 as it drives now then you could always wait for a GT take-off wheel to pop up on eBay for a better price.

Awesome, makes sense, I too miss my paddle shifters form my s550, I think I’ll bit the bullet and get this wheel.
Thanks again for putting this up together

Nicely done! Just for my understanding, if all I wanted to do was to enable the gears to be displayed (don't want to install paddles), would I only do this:

- Enable Continuous Gear Display in FORScan (IPC 720-12-01 xx*x xxxx xx--) change C to E or just use "easy mode" for this swap.

Or is there anything else I need to do?

Thank you!!

Here's a photo of how my instrument cluster is now, and where the gears are displayed. Small gear icon next to the "M" icon at the bottom, as well as a larger gear icon on the left opposite the speedometer. Both numbers display when the car is in "D" or "M."

Here are all of the steps that I took to get a 101A non-HPP EcoBoost to work with paddle shifters.

- Install new steering wheel (I went with Dark Horse for the black trim, but any GT wheel with paddles should work). Wiring harnesses are the same with the exception of the heated steering wheel option, which was not available on my car. There are a few YouTube videos on this for step-by-step instructions if you need it.
- Enable Select Shift in FORScan (PCM 7E0-03-01 xxxx xxxx x*--) change 1 to a 2. This will make the "L" selection on your gear shifter behave like "M" should but will not change it on your instrument cluster
- Enable Gear Select SST in FORScan (IPC 720-02-01 *xxx xxxx xx--) change 0 to a 4. This is what changed the "L" on my instrument cluster to "M" to actually show gears.
- Enable Continuous Gear Display in FORScan (IPC 720-12-01 xx*x xxxx xx--) change C to E or just use "easy mode" for this swap.

And that's it. Made a few other changes while I had FORScan connected and will likely continue to tweak things as I dig a little deeper into Livnitup's spreadsheet, but that's all that was required to get paddle shifters working which was one of the main features I was missing from my S550.
Is it the same set up for a GT with PP? I want to see the gears in auto as well. Is this something the dealership can do or do I have to get a forscan and do it myself?

Only if you already have an "M" mode on your instrument cluster.

That was my original issue which is why I started this thread. If you only have the "L" mode on your instrument cluster, you also need to perform the following step in order for CGD to work:

- Enable Gear Select SST in FORScan (IPC 720-02-01 *xxx xxxx xx--) change 0 to a 4. This is what changed the "L" on my instrument cluster to "M" to actually show gears.

You can try to ask your dealer if they'll do it, but I wouldn't count on it. If you already have a PP then it's an easy FORscan change that'll take just a second. Only cost is the adapter, or finding someone in your area who has FORscan and will do it for you.

Do I follow the same steps as described earlier in the thread??

I did these on my car

- Enable Gear Select SST in FORScan (IPC 720-02-01 *xxx xxxx xx--) change 0 to a 4. This is what changed the "L" on my instrument cluster to "M" to actually show gears.
- Enable Continuous Gear Display in FORScan (IPC 720-12-01 xx*x xxxx xx--) change C to E or just use "easy mode" for this swap.

continuous gear display was already enabled, I don’t have paddle shifters (201A-ecoboost premium with premium electronics package) but it was still enabled.
Though gears were not displaying on mine, then enabled this
- Enable Gear Select SST in FORScan (IPC 720-02-01 *xxx xxxx xx--) change 0 to a 4. This is what changed the "L" on my instrument cluster to "M" to actually show gears

now gears are displayed but my automatic start stop does not work, it shows this symbol on the bottom right
IMG_7530.jpeg
IMG_7529.jpeg

so I tried enabling the third thing
- Enable Select Shift in FORScan (PCM 7E0-03-01 xxxx xxxx x*--) change 1 to a 2. This will make the "L" selection on your gear shifter behave like "M" should but will not change it on your instrument cluster

but in forscan it shows something like, “service interrupted” when I try to do IPC write.

what should I do now; any pointers? No DTCs, (there are 1-2 related to imaging module A or something)

But I am not sure why my automatic start stop start stop does not work? And why I am unable to write to IPC.

I also enabled WAL, and WALF and auto lock from the sheet.

I don't have one of these cars, so I've never messed with one to this extent. I'll check it out tomorrow when I have some time to dig through the spreadsheet to see if I can find anything.

Do you know by chance what could be having this auto start stop to not activate? Maybe low battery?

For sure low 12v voltage will cause ASS to not work. Send me the VIN and I can check what the SoC your car is reporting to the cloud.

I don't think the "M" mode will work without paddle shifters...⁶
